Hey guys!
Firstly, I'd like to point out that I am not 80 years old, and I have never starred in a James Bond movie
I recently signed up to Guitar Master Class around last week on Saturday, just in time for Todd's live video chat. Man, I was really impressed at what I saw. It was good fun and really informative. In the past week I have been able to attend two of Todd's live video chats as well as one by Ivan Milenkovic - both, I thought were really great. I have been looking up through the various lessons on GMC and it has really opened my eyes and shown me how much I have to learn. It's going to be great!
As for my history and influences, I have been playing the guitar for around 4 years. I have never had a formal lesson (no time/money
) so at points I disregarded my playing and have gaps in my knowledge. However, for the past year or two I have been really motivated and I have been playing everyday. I am a big fan of metal music. Listening to this and seeing the creativity that it involved really influenced me to pick up the guitar and start playing it. As I started playing more and more guitar I started to appreciate other types of guitar playing more, and now I am really interested in classical guitar, jazz, blues and fusion playing. I would say that my biggest influence would be Guthrie Govan as he is such a diverse player and can play about any style with perfection, and the fact that you can see he really has a passion for what he does. I am also really influenced by and enjoy players such as Josh Middleton (Sylosis) for his technicality and energy when playing, Olve Eikemo (Immortal) who isn't really the best guitar player but can add so much atmosphere within his songs, and players that I see on YouTube that are just normal people who love guitar.
I look forward to spending time here at GMC, thanks!
