Hi Muris! Richard here. I have told you about this before, but as you may notice I am still looking for a new guitar. My friends and I went to this place were bands play jazz and folk, and I saw this guitar player who had a danelectro guitar, it really caught my eye, I went to the web page and saw the guitars and their prices, they seemed pretty reasonable, I also checked their sound at the web page and I really liked thei bluesy sound I though it was kind of cool. What can you tell me about them, do you think It would be a good guitar to buy?

Hi Guys... Richard Here.
I came up tih the idea of buying a new guitar some time ago, but I still havenīt decided which one to buy. By the way, yesterday we had a gig, and the time when we were supposed to play was rescheduled, so we tune our guitars real quick, and we had no time to warm-up or check our gear thoroughly. The thing is that while we were playing our first song, I jumped during one of the main riffs, and my strap came loose! the upper button was no longer there, so I couldnīt put the strap back on, fortunately, the crew gave me an ibanez SA from another contestant, I had been playing with an epiphone les paul (special 2) which is quite economic. But I was amazed by the Ibanez, it just felt so nice and solid, I loved playing with it, the solos sounded amazing, and I felt like I was in complete control. However, I donīt play metal, I play soft rock, with a litlle blues influence, so I didnīt like how the ibanez sounded when I changed from chord to chord, the strings made that chssssjjjj!!! noise when I slided my hand to play another position. So I had several thoughts on my mind: I liked the ibanez on lead guitar, but not on rythm, I am also very fond of the gibson les paul standard (without the pick guard), but I donīt like the fact that it doesnīt have a tremolo (I recently heard that there is a les paul with a floyd rose tremolo, which sound really interesting) . I like the fender showmaster, bu I haventīhad the chance to play it, I also loved the prs guitars, but I really donīt know which one I should by. I was thinking on spending 900 dollars at the most, and it wouldnīt matter if the guitars was a used one, as long as it is in good conditions. I want a guitar that is really manageable playing lead guitar, and gentle in rythm guitar. Could somebody give me any recommendations? By the way, I recently saw the danelectro guitars, I liked them a lot not only because they are not that expensive, but because of their bluesy sound, but once again, I havenīt played one, so I would really like to know if they are a good option for a guitar. Thanks.... Richard.

Hi guys How is everybody! I have been practicing the stairway to heaven solo, I almost managed to play it entirely, but there are some parts I can't listen to in the song because they are played really fast, I guess I can't really distinguish the notes. Could anybody give me a hand here? By the way, I noticed that there are not many licks in the style of jimmy page or in led zeppelin's style, it would be really cool to see some of that in gmc. Please let me know if you know how to play it (the solo I mean...). Cheers... Richard

Heroes del Silencio is a band from Zaragoza, Spain, they are perhaps the most crucial band in latin rock, in my opinion, next to Soda Stereo, they are the best bands that ever existed in music in spanish.
Well, I wouldnīt be surprised if none of you has ever heard of Heroes del Silencio, because their songs are all in spanish. They were pretty big in the mid 90īs, once they had realased all their albums. However, there is one thing to notice... Juan Valdivia, the lead guitarist is one of the best, definitely, not only his style is amazing, but his technique which is awesome is what makes me think he is so great. Enrique Bunbury is the lead singer, who is also impressive, their songs sound so powerful with him on them! They are actually very big in the spanish speaker countries, they were reunited recently to give their last tour together, I went to see them, and they were just amazing, they sold every seat in 2 dates in the foro sol in Mexico city, which is a huge arena for about 35,000 people. It is definitely worth it to listen to them, never-mind if you donīt understand the lyrics, the guitar is just amazing. Try to download this songs which are some of their best: Deeshacer el mundo, Entre Dos Tierras, Apuesta por el Rock nīroll, Rueda, Fortuna!, La sirena Varada, and iberia sumergida, and La Chispa Adecuada (This one is their most famous song). There are of course many more! Their songs are great, live, and recorded. As a matter of fact, they just released the cd and dvd of their last tour, and the great majority of the songs in the selection were recorded in Mexico City because they have a very big audience here... You can also check them on you tube, try to look for Ļdeshacer el mundoĻit is a rehearsal, try to listen to the solo! http://youtube.com/watch?v=P6n4YZk6dUQ

Hi Guys, Richard Here:
I donīt know why Iīm having problems loading my personal image, not the avatar, but the other one (the one that appears on the forum when you post a new topic, reply, etc...) I have a mac, but that doesn;t seem the problem, I also tried to load it on a pc, but it didnīt work. I donīt know whether I am looking in the wrong place, or the page has some sort of problem. I went to my profile, and then clicked on ĻChange my personal imageĻonce there I had the option of removing it, or to place an URL, but there is no button to browse my computer and load an image from it. I would appreciate your help. Lots of thanks. And by the way, have a very happy new year everybody! |
