Can someone please explain to me what the difference between a major and minor scale is, because I always see "A Major Scale" or "A Minor", what is the difference? I've been really trying to learn more of the guitar, beyond songs and whatnot, but this is just really confusing me.
Also, how do you tell what Key a song is composed in? I see things like "In the key of C" or something relevant to that, and I have no idea what a key of C is, or how to tell thats its in a key of C, or any other letter for that matter. An explanation or links would really help Cheers GMC

Let me just say thats its great. Ozzy's voice still sounds great (im sure they doctored it up a bit though) but the guitar riffs are heavy and great, and the lyrics sound good.
I'm quite satisfied!

One thing i've never really got is harmonics, I can produce them somewhat but I never was really able to figure out how to incorporate them into music (or really how to do them at all, or at least do them well).
I think a small lesson covering harmonics (natural harmonics, pinch harmonics, soloing with harmonics etc.) would be a great new lesson. The text lessons really just dont cut it for me, I can never understand them fully. I used the search button and I seen kris say that a harmonics lesson is for GMC, but that was back in November. Not complaining or anything just saying What do you guys think? Yay or Nay?

I've been thinking about picking up this pedal but I wanted some opinions on it before I decided to buy it. From the guitar center reviews it seems to be a pretty good multi-effect pedal, I just wanted to see if anyone has tried it. I like how it has a built in drum machine and usb connectivity. Also, how well does the expression pedal work with the pedal? I play mostly heavy metal and blues if that helps.

I wouldn't say i'm a beginner, but i've been playing for about 1 1/2 years, which have roughly all been just learning songs, and i've been going through all the beginners lessons learning some stuff (I'm already pretty decent with scales, power chords, palm muting, and other things), but what I want to know is which lessons are the best for me to really spend time learning and improving on? In the next couple of months i'd really like to start working on soloing and speeding up my picking speed, so what does everyone suggest I start spending serious time on?
*through* Sorry about the typo in the topic title, i've been sick all day and my heads not in the right place right now. |
