So, I'll be seeing Wilco for the second time in a year tonight...I hate to ever wish time away, but I've been looking forward to tonight for about two months. If you're not familiar with Wilco, you might remember the alt. country trio Uncle Tupelo...they later split into two bands Son Volt and Wilco....Wilco started out with an Alt. Country feel, but over the past few years the music has been shaped more by their individual playing styles and songwriting approaches as opposed to staying put in one genre. Two or three years ago they added the guitarist Nels Cline to their fold....Nels is an experimental guitar player who has his own Jazz trio in L.A. He brings a wealth of musical ability to Wilco, and while he is not a shredder in the typical rock sense, he can definitely shred IMHO. check out a couple of these clips for some good Nels Cline action.

I'm lookin' to buy some new humbuckers for my Washburn W164dl. i like to get heavy, but when playing live, i play a lot of different styles....led zepp, santana, grateful dead, allman brothers, al green, red hot chili peppers, talking heads etc...so i need something that is really versatile. my effects unit is a POD XT live...I can get a lot of sounds from it. oh, i would also like something that will allow me to play with a very clean tone if needed....basically the best of both worlds.

just a mere three weeks ago, i was offered a "position" in a "house" band playing rhythm/lead guitar and singing backup vocals twice a week at a local restaurant/bar. we played mostly covers...classic rock, classic soul, funk, blues...etc. before that i hadn't played a regular gig in 6 years. well, i just got a call from the band leader saying we had the plug pulled on us...the reason, it's football season.

I haven't been around too long, but I was wondering: once a lesson has been recorded and made avaliable by a given instructor, does that lesson remain avaliable for the life of this website, or is there a a time limit to how long a lesson will be made avaliable...
