Hi Nick, my name is Eddie. I'm 21 and started "playing" guitar 7-8 months ago.
First of all let me tell you how much I admire your playing and your lessons, not to mention your theory knowledge. Now here's my question: you said somewhere that in modern harmony there's a key change with every chord change in a progression. Could you please explain it to me with a few examples? Hope you see what I mean. Thank you, Eddie

Hello Muris,
I was studying Andrew's extended chords lesson but the added notes part is still missing. I know there are 9th, 11th and 13th chords, but I also bumped into add9, add11 and add13 chords. Now, the first three are obtained adding thirds to a 7th chord, right? But what happens with those add chords? Do you simply "add" a 9th, or 11th or 13th? And if so, to what? Hope this makes sense... Thank you

Hello my dear beginner fellows!
I so much loved Muris' One String Work out that I thought it would be useful to do the same exercise but this time in E Aeolian. So I did the BT in Aeolian respecting his degrees, so the chords are Emin, Cmaj, Amin, F#dim and E min again. (Hope I'm right Just repeat the patterns of the original lesson but using the E minor scale. I hope you'll find it useful as I do and hope you like it! As always, thank you Muris and hope you like it too! Cheers, Eddie

Hi Muris! It's me again, Eddie.
I know I said I wouldn't ask you for any more lessons, but I have a little problem. I understand and "feel" the note values, but only if I take them one by one. I'm currently working on your "one string workout", and it's lovely, but at a certain point I get lost. So here's my request: Could you please make a "real" beginner's lesson on timing? Like you start in 8th notes, then to 8th triplets, then to 16th notes, then to 16th triplets, but at 70 bpms? Maybe my lesson idea is stupid for you, and I know it could be boring to you, but I'm sure that it would be really helpful! I would love it!!! Thank you. Eddie

Hi Muris!
I've got a lot of practicing to do, so don't worry, I'm not going to ask you for another lesson! I was browsing around lately and I read things like D drop tuning etc, etc. Could you please tell me what all these different tunings mean? What are they good for? Why do you tune a guitar differently? What are the benefits? I know it might sound stupid, but I'd really like to know why and when you tune a guitar differently... I'm just curious. Thank you. P.S: My aching pinky says hello. Eddie |
