I am going trough the amazing theory lessons from Andrew.
I am now ready to start practicing with pentatonic scales. I am practicing the G minor (closest to the nut) My question is when doing these pentatonic scales are there any rules in which fingers to fret with? Or am I alllowed to use every finger that makes the job done? I tend to use my index finger and my pinky. I am in doubt if I should use my index finger and ring finger. Are the any guidelines so I don't get in trouble when doing other scales?

My finger strenght has improved a great deal in two weeks. Please do not post links to competitive sites of GMC. incase in doubt ask Kris Dahl for permission. Please keep your bookmarks guitar/music related. Be free to also post links to GMC lessons or links that you found incredibly usefull. I am interested in anything that could help me or other students improve Thanks for your help P.S I will keep adding new links myself

Hi Teachers I love your lessons!
Question and suggestion: Would it be possible to provide us students with the effect used in the video lessons? Just a simple reference like: "The effect used in this lesson is High Gain, low Gain, FX heavy etc etc or "You will need lots of delay and modulation to sound the same as my sound" or "you will need a jazzy and acoustic sound for this" or "The amp I am using for this tutorial is 96 Brit Celest V30" I am not asking you to upload your sound or ship me your amplifier I noticed some techniques only work with certain effects and I am having a hard time finding the matching effect every time I try a lesson.(like tapping) Maybe you can do it with the new video's from now on? Hope this is possible

Hi All,
The main reason I started to love the guitar is because of a Xbox game called Guitar Hero I am curious to hear for what reason you started to learn how to play the guitar? Is it some cool song you heard or are you a big fan of somebody? Have you met your goals yet? Which mistakes did you made when starting?(please be specific) and what is the coolest thing you can do on the guitar? Please let me hear your whole story. Take care, Mike |
