I´ve been playing for almost eight years now but almost exclusivly the acoustic and I´ve just recently picked up the electric guitar! It´s not as easy as I thought...
I have about 1,5-2hours that I can practice each day... I´m looking for the best way to incorporate all the techniques in this time...I just want to be a better guitarist and learn to play as much different styles/songs as possible. I´m very impressed by your skills and like the way you play and would like to know how to pracice! Right now I just run different skales to a metronome att different speeds I can handle and then I try to learn a new song/solo...I just tried to learn you lesson about sweeping, Impossible..almost...it´s really hard but I guess I have to start slow... So what I am trying to say is how would a prober scheduel look like to incorporate as many techniques as possible in the time I have to practice? I guess I forgot to mention that it´s mainly metal/rock/80´s rock that I want to play! Thanks for all the great lessons! Sincerely/Joakim

Hello Karl!
First off, let me say that this site is GREAT!!! I´ve just recently started to play the electric guitar after seven years of acoustic. Let me tell that from the start it was almost as learning to playt the guitar again(almost:)) I´m not that fond of practicing with a metronome, even though I do it at least 15minutes every day because it´s good for me, but I rather learn songs and melodies that will develop my technique. This site gives me just that satisfaction!!! Anyway, let´s return to the topic...I´m as you can see not that a good guitarist yet that I can tell how this solo is played(Chesney Hawkes - One and only) but every since I heard that song when I was a kid I´ve just loved it! So maybe you or some other teacher could do a lesson or maybe at least a tab for it??? Thank you in advance and thanks for a great site!!! Sincerely/Joakim |
