Interests
not many things, only the nice things in life, like guitars, music, writing songs, girls, beer, the stars... time travel, oh and meeting some interesting people perhaps musical masterminds... or something like musical soulmates, because I have my own probably weird way of experiencing and playing music. Maybe there are more like me (don't mean me with masterminds, but with soulmates)
and awsomeness is also interesting I guess

I'd really like to meet some interesting people, and not by going out, but by staying at home, playing som guitar, learning some music theory, writing songs, drinking beer while thinking of girls/time travel or the stars... yEAH!

HI

I was wondering if there are standards or mathematical rules about this:

I know for example a IV chord leads to a V or a vii° chord . But if you use chords like #9 or even 7b9#11 , can those chords have specificic influences on the chord progression or are they always just filling up the chord and that's it.

joris, just wondering.

does anyone know interisting lessons or websites about chord progression theory and added notes-chords?

thanx

For all I know, stevie ray is the king of blues guitar. I guess some people would agree with that. So he sat at his throne, reigning probably, preaching blues until he died in 1990. But I can't think of a single guitar player who, after 1990, even saw a glimpse of that blues guitar throne and of course no one sat on it. Or am I wrong? Where there great blues guitarists after stevie ray? Okay there probably where people like clapton, moore,.. but they are no match to stevie ray vaughn. He would blow them off stage if he weren't such a nice guy.

But seriously, please tell me who was a great blues guitar player after 1990? Did the blues die togheter with stevie ray or has stevie ray shown us everything the blues can do for you and is that why no one can be a blues icon anymore after stevie. I'm curious

Hello fellow musicians,

I would mostly like to learn about chord progressions or applying theory to what you are playing. Anybody got some tips for me? I liked soul lesson very much. And I like lessons with weird/special chords like mb5b7, m7, 7, augmented, suspended, major sixth, you know...

Please let me know

I played 0,9mm for 10 years or so, untill I heard of 0,10mm for the first time. It didn't take long before I tried 0,11, 0,12 an 0,13. I would really like to tune in Eb with 0,12 or 0,13. The last one scares me a bit, think I might cut my fingers off while bending. But my cheap ass guitar is already having problems staying in tune with the 0,11 in Eb. As soon as I got enough money I will buy new gear, guitar and amp. I especially like to play the blues and some light rock music, both with stevie ray vaughan influences (I try). But I can't really wait till the day I buy new gear. I think I will buy a jackson guitar, because my friend has just got an endorsement with jackson for 25% discount. Or maybe fender, if that's also in the endorsement. Is jackson a solid enough guitar to put let's say 0,12 gauge or 0,13 and tune in Eb or even E, anyway... at least D (not dropped, but all the strings)? Or would be fender be a better choice, probably because I just talked about blues, but I like the jackson neck (the ones with the white upper layer on the fret board) better than the fender. I now play a squier by fender, but I put more energy in tuning sometimes than in playing :-(. I also have an old jackson, but it also detunes because I broke something near the floyd rose, I had it fixed, but I was stupid enough to break it again by tuning an octave too high without checking my bridge :-&, it was standing almost straight up... I also have an old Ibanez, but the frets have lost a lot of fret material, and now some notes don't always sound how they should...

Should I start dealing drugs or something like that to get my new gear sooner? Or are there other options/ways too?

I can live with the detuning , it's been like that all my life... all those cheap guitars...

Stay awsome everybody...

Any tips?

I tend to play worse when I record something, or maybe I always play these little mistakes, but they only start to matter when I record it... I guess I don't play very perfect... often it's my mind wandering around forgetting to think of the next move on the fretboard... I guess I'm a dreamer of some extreme blink.gif kind

What can I do about it, anyone have the same problem?
