Alexander...

There are different types of screaming ( I'm preparing a lesson about that)

but.. I'll do a question for you.... when you are pushing something heavy don't you Grunt? if you do it.... do you feel that you are damaging your vocal cords?? Try it! i'm sure you don't feel anything wrong...

This happen because you are using an extra force from your diaphragm while you are compressing your vocal cords..
but if you create this force into you larynx you will damage your vocal cords for sure. see the difference??
The grunt compresses your cords. As you do it, it zips then up. Don`t over do it. You can quickly wear out your voice this way. The trick is to use the grunt to get used to adducting then back it off, but keep the compression of the cords that resulted from it.

Try this exercise:
Take in a breath, grunt, and break into a note, and keep some of the effect of the grunt. You'll notice the effect better if you try for something in your higher range.

I`ll do a lesson soon about this ...

hope it helps....

I hope this is a beginning of an international career! smile.gif

Awesome Gab, song sounds great, and chorus is excellent! Production is really kicking nicely, very smooth track, and pleasant for listening, which is very important. It has a great flow to it. smile.gif

There are some places where I think pronunciation is a bit strange, but since I'm not native English speaker, take this with a pinch of salt. Here are my observations if it is OK:

Come close to me, astonish me, be slow and quiet
Come close to me, and always whisper in my ear.
And tell me it is true.

It is said that the unconscious is so endless
[Reality] is everything that you set going
I want to hear you...

No one could get in, killing all my [distress]
Leaving behind all my strong will, something will remain.

Well now tell me what I should do, oh my free spirit
Show me that place, that holy place, where we shall be together.

No one could get in, killing all my distress
Leaving behind all my strong will, something will remain.

Why are you [unfair] to me, and leave me to be lost and lonely?
Please talk to me, please give me your warm love.

No one could get in, killing all my distress
Leaving behind all my strong will, something will remain.

Thanks... this helps a lot!!!

I think this is important suggestion, as like you said Gabriel, it is hard to translate but still keep the melody and feel of the original song.

But even with that being said, I think you guys rocked this one!!!! I loved the original, and I must apologize for my complete butchering of your beautiful language in my car as I drive to work. I might not have a clue of what you are singing about, or how to properly pronounce it, but I still tried to sing along smile.gif Now I really can sing along... much to the chagrin of my passengers I'm sure laugh.gif laugh.gif You guys know I'm a huge fan so now that I can also understand what you are writing it is very exciting.

Luci's voice is amazing, but singing in english I think she has that extra little something. Very exotic and refreshing. I can't wait to hear more.

No matter how you translate it.... CIRSE ROCKS!!!!!!

Thanks a lot Rokchik!!!!

First of all the song is really great and the vocals are expressive and captivating. Hope you will be successful with the song and find a broader audience in English speaking or English centric countries. Now to the pronunciation. Of course there are words where it is apparent that Luciana is not a native speaker. But it also adds some slightly exotic vibe that makes it really interesting. If you want to strive for perfect pronunciation though, Luciana should focus on a clearer articulation of e and i. I refer here to words like distress (the i is formed too far up in the nasopharynx, means the tongue comes up but shouldn’t). Another one is “will”. She makes the i too long, it sounds more like wiihl. Same in whisper or killing. The “i” in front of more nasal consonant combinations like ng are also something to focus on. “Said” is slightly over pronounced, but that might be part of the phrasing. Same with the e in ear. Another thing to look for is the combination of p and l as in place or please. She pronounces it more like bl (sounds a little like blace).
But again I love it like it is. Great song, great singing. smile.gif

WOW! that's a great feedback! perfect explanation of the articulation. I'll work on my "e" and "i". and I understad perfectly the consonant combinations. Thanxs a lot! very clear!

WOW!!! this is really really good!! yeah certainly has an evanescence sound and feel to it. this song is every bit as good as anything on the radio today!!

wow! thank you!! biggrin.gif

I listened to the tune before reading anyone's comments. It sounds great, and the singing is excellent. I didn't notice anything to worry about regarding pronunciation or accent. Luciana sounds just slightly exotic, which is good. It fits the phrasing. Don't mess with your style just to sound more like a news announcer. I look forward to hearing more.

Hey thanks for your comment...I'm happy because I sound exotic! huh.gif laugh.gif ... hahaha!...thanks for helping us ...

Awesome work! smile.gif

Maybe the next song will be "Muy Tarde"... I have to practice that... dry.gif

if thats luisana(it sounds like its her) singing, her accent is flawless, and i can connecnt much more to the song when i udnerstand the lyrics, its very very good. would make a very succesfull single in my opinion, very mainstream compared to other things i heard.
is it ok if i put it on my mp3 player?

Hey! thank you! I think this is the begining of a English album!

QUOTE (Marek Rojewski @ Oct 25 2009, 07:10 PM) *
The word "ear" was sang in a way that made me think "hmmm something can be not right", and besides that some words in the :

It is said that the unconscious is so endless
Reality is everything that you set going
I want to hear you...

sounded pronounced quite strange, after that everything was sang in a way that sounded proper, of course I don't have to mention that Lucianas voice and singing skill are great, and it all in all this song really sound great in english version.

Excellent! We need this types of comments, because I always said that our english is different. See.. my mother is an English teacher but our pronunciation it's weird for me. The accent is perfect here in Argentina but in the world with the english as native language it's different of course...
Thank you for the comment

QUOTE (Fran @ Oct 25 2009, 07:14 PM) *
Awesome. I always prefer lyrics in English (and I'm Spanish), so pretty cool song. I specially like the chorus, it has an Evanescence scent to it.

Thank you! the songs always sounds better in english version.... I don't know why..but it's true

QUOTE (Marek Rojewski @ Oct 25 2009, 07:16 PM) *
Yeah has some evanescence vibe, but more enjoyable if You ask me:)

evanescence!!!! wow! thanks!!!!!!

QUOTE (Bondy @ Oct 25 2009, 07:24 PM) *
i was one of the first at GMC to buy your album and i would buy it again in English, awesome stuff i can sing along now lol, instead of trying to do so with a Spanish accent. lol

hahahah!, thank you!!! biggrin.gif

QUOTE (Andrew Cockburn @ Oct 25 2009, 07:50 PM) *
Wow, sounds great in English - Luci, your singing is as always awesome, and I would honestly not know you weren't a native English speaker, your accent is superb!

I think this is a great way to spread the reach of Cirse - I bought the original album, I would buy it again if there was a full English version!

wow Andrew!! Thanks a lot!!! we are thinking on that....mmm CIRSE in English.. could be work! cool.gif

QUOTE (Kristofer Dahl @ Oct 25 2009, 07:57 PM) *
Hehe now we are talking laugh.gif I love this album, but still I must agree that the fact that I now understand what you are saying definitely raises the song to an even higher level.

I guess there are some places where pronunciation could be improved - but I think this level of English is already enough to convince an international audience (don't forget this comes from a Swede! rolleyes.gif )

Thank you Kris!!!!!! I´m working on it! wink.gif

You talked about this some while ago, and I've been waiting ever since!
I love the english version smile.gif
I can't say much about the language and phrases, as English is not my native language either..
But Lucianas pronunciation is superb smile.gif

Great work!!!
I'll definitely buy the english version if you release one smile.gif

Hey Thank you a lot!!!!

QUOTE (Crazy_Diamond @ Oct 25 2009, 08:54 PM) *
I love it Gab !!! I wouldn't mind with the small accents I think it adds to the song. I heard some song in english where the spanish accents was way more audible.

Gabriel, I can't exactly say what I have in mind, just that the part "It is said that the unconscious" sounds bit unnatural to me, still don't know how to change it, to still fit the great sounding " is so endless" part that comes after it. Hope it helps a bit, Cirse is a great band:)

Thank you!!! we will review the lyric! thank a lot

Hi johnny99!

You always have to start with lessons about warming up or breathing:

those are my first lessons:

http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/misc-less...inging-lesson1/

http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/misc-less...inging-lesson2/

http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/misc-less...inging-lesson3/

try to practice every day a little and then, when you feel confortable, try the other lessons

good luck! and feel free to ask me ..

I think he is very fast. I don't think this is fake.
There are people for everything. Of course If you practice 14 hs per day for being the faster guitar player, maybe you don't have time to create music.
So don't ask him about his music, because he has been prepared only for being faster.

So, I congratulate his speed.
Really, I would not lose my time on it huh.gif

QUOTE (Gus @ Nov 3 2008, 07:04 PM) *
Hi, Luciana.

I am now on a band that has a front girl. Her voice is really good, but every time we record something the recording is simply not up to what we hear on the recording room.
Do you have any tips to record female voice? (maybe also some general tips about recording voice). Well, you definitely has experience with that tongue.gif

Just in case, did you ever recorded voice over Gabriel's POD X3? Cause that's what we are using to record our demos. If so, what were the settings?

Hi Gus! It's great to hear that you have a female singer in your band! smile.gif
I just tried the pod x3 once and we didn't like the results... We use a tube pre mic (behringer ultragain) and a condenser mic for recording demos and the lessons. You should try any condenser mic like Rode Nt 2 A or any Akg with a good pre amp exclusive for voices to get a professional voice recorded.

BTW we didn't experiment too much with the pod X3 so I can't assure you that it's not good for recording vocals.

Luciana.
