Nice work so far.
Clean up that tone, work on some palm muting (with both hands) to get it tighter and it would sound pretty sweet. -------------------- Play Games Arcade Take a break, Play Games! Play the best free online flash games at Aaron's Game Zone like Bloons Tower Defense 4! |

Nice job man! Although the tone is not that great, what's with the mix, it sounds overcompressed?

great job and great improvment over your first attempt Thanks man! Hey mate gonna have those drums tomorrow so you're gonna have to re-record Hehe But i will re-record the other one Nice job man! Although the tone is not that great, what's with the mix, it sounds overcompressed? Thanks Ivan. I think it's because overcompression. I mixed this with my laptop's monitors And i am also new to mixing But i have the original recordings in my computer so i will try until i get the perfect tone. Can you give me some advice if you don't mind? Not had a chance to listen to this but by overcompressed I'd assume Ivan means that you've killed the natural dynamics. That's probably because of several things -
1/ you have your levels too high and so either hit digital zero or have to limit the track to avoid it. At tracking and mixing IMHO you rarely, if ever, need to use a limiter if you get your levels right for guitar. If you're using one then stop, take it off and sort out the levels properly. Don't go for volume at mixing - that's done at mastering - go for a clean, dynamic, undistorted mix. 2/ you have a compressor on the track and have the ratio setting and makeup incorrect. 3/ as above but also with the attack and release. 4/ if you are using a compressor you're not mixing into it but mixing and then adding it and then adjusting the mix again. 5/ similar to 4, you have the compressor set post something and then adjust that thing but don't adjust the comp accordingly. 6/ the mp3 encoding has added to much additional compression and summing gain. You need to account for this prior to rendering to mp3. Sure you know this but mixing on laptop speakers isn't likely to lead to a good result as they simply can't reproduce the audio well enough. If you can't hear the mix clearly and acurately you can't make properly informed decisions about what to do. -------------------- Get your music professionally mastered by anl AES registered Mastering Engineer. Thanks for the advices Tony I know that mixing on laptop speakers is not an option to get good sounds. But since i don't have professional monitors i have to mix this on laptop until i get some -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPOTIFY PAGE YOUTUBE CHANNEL |
