Ans.1 Goals - Developing dexterity, speed and lead guitar skills
- Learning theory ( I know nothing except note names, whole steps, half steps, major scale, minor scale on single string, minor pentatonic scale box shape )
- Being a good lead guitarist

Ans. 2 Weakness (Lead guitar maybe, theory, dexterity, learning solos, see my playing in the vid to know more
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQX0p-EfEyw )

Ans. 3 Strongest point (I play with all my heart and out my emotion into my playing, probably, I dont know)

Ans 4 My favorite guitarists and what i like about them
- Dave Mustaine - overall the best guitarist for me, great at riffing, does great solos, and he is a great songwriter, lyricist and a good vocalist too. My biggest influence
- Alexi Laiho - a great shredder.
- Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield - a great team, i like kirk's use of wah, but sometimes he overdoes it
- Eddie Van Halen - Love his tapping and tone
- Randy Rhodes
- Marty Friedman - Love his vibrato and note selection, gives his solos an exotic, chinese or arabic kinda like an eastern feel
- Jimmy Page
- Slash - not one of my favs, but definitely like him
- Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King
- Bullet For My Valentine's Matt Tuck & Michael Padget
- Chris Broderick - a learned guitarist, very technical and intelligent
- Michael Angelo Batio

Great! I am glad that you joined!
Let's start
There are two parts in every improvisation
Melodic and mechanical
Melodic exercise when you are developing your inner ear and trying to create melodies on the spot
Mechanical is technique that you are using!

I will teach you both, but we will start with mechanical!
To get your technique to the next level you have to do simple mechanical exercises using a metronome and making sure that you have a full control over your hands!
I have created simple exercises that will help you to start getting your hand in sync and developing your technique!
YOU HAVE TO PRACTICE IT AT A VERY SLOW TEMPO!!!!
Here is the tab:

Slower you do it better results you will get I can suggest 60 BPM!
Before we will get into the theory I would like to know what you have learned already?
Please tell me briefly if you can:
- Build a scale
- Harmonize a scale
- Know circle of 5th
- Know all pentatonics in all positions (or some)
- Know scales in all keys al positions (or at least some)
- Know arpeggios

I know
- Circle of fifth, but takes me some time to calculate that the fifth of c# is g# (2 mins)
- Know one normal minor pentatonic shape
- Know how to play minor scale on just ONE string
- Know about whole steps and half steps
- Know about note names ie A A#, B, C, there's no thing as B#

And that's probably it

I can suggest to always practice using the metronome! And do it slow! We will start with theory for now I would like to know how is the exercise I gave you working out? Do you have any questions or need help?
Usually you will have a few days to work on the assignment I don't want you to have hundred things to practice and not be organized! Good practicing starts with a good organization!!!
For now I would like to start getting into numbers!
Here is the idea: Every note in the scale has a number
C-I
D-II
E-III
F-IV
G-V
A-VI
B-VII

I would like you to write numbers for four scales:
G major, D major, F major, Bb major
Let me know if you need any help!

Hi! Nice to have you back!
Ok well G major and D major you were correct!
On F major you called the not A# instead of Bb
And on Bb you are very far away!
So let's do that here is the circle of fifth that I would like you to learn!
Attached Image
As you can see if we will move clockwise we will get sharps added opposite way flats
So that's how sharps are added:
F - C - G - D -A - E
Flats are added this way:
B - E - A - D - G - C

Now using this system do the numbers for Bb major scale again!
I would like you to start learning circle of fifths and get more comfortable with it!
Let me know if you have any questions or need help!

It's very easy!
When you are moving to the right you are adding sharps
and moving to the left flats!
You just have to memorize this scale and you will learn circle of fifths!
A# and Bb have the same pitch but if you will write it this way it will be incorrect! because F major is a scale with one Flat not a Sharp!
I hope that helps! If not please be more specific it will make it easier for me to explain you in more details!

OK, now i get it. On the inner circle, I move clockwise to add sharps and on the outer circle I move anti-clockwise, adding flats right? That's how I understand it. I've learnt the formula of the Major Scale. It is
Root , W, W , H, W W, W, Root.

Oh and yeah, check this thread out and help me with my new guitar.

W W H W W H Root
