I just wanted to follow up and see how are you doing? Do you have any questions or need help? Let me know!

doing okay with it, Alex thanks. I have been trying to improve on my last 2 attempts but I haven't really came up with anything that I thought was an improvement so far. However, I plan to have another session with it tonight and I will definitely get a take recorded an posted up tonight or tomorrow smile.gif

Hi Alex,

Here is what I managed to record. I tried to emulate the kind of things you were playing as much as I could smile.gif

Wow! You did an amazing job! I love the melody and ideas and the whole solo was just great!
Now I would like you to take it up a notch! smile.gif
Now we will start combining major and minor pentatonics!
So over E7
Still use E minor pentatonic (You can use all positions for this one)

Over A7 let's use combination of A minor and A major blues pentatonics
A minor

A major blues

For B7
Use B major pentatonic

I did my take to give you ideas! Please continue smile.gif I am looking forward to hear your take!

Hey Alex wink.gif

This take was quite challenging. Ive never used the A major and B major scales before and they were really tough to get something that didnt sound 'weird' biggrin.gif I can totally see how cool it can be when you mix the major and minor scales.... IF you know what you are doing LOL!

Ive tagged my take on the end of the file you posted ( it comes in around the 1:25 time frame ) I wasn't sure if you wanted me to add on more backing track to the end but I can do that if you prefer.

I liked your take a lot very melodic!! You did a very good job! I would suggest to turn down distortion a little bit it will bring your dynamic up! I liked the melodies you did! I still want to hear more spaces in between the phrases! Try to really work Q&A technique for this one!
Let me know if you have any questions or need help!

Looking forward to the next one!

So I have created a new challenge for you!
We will start combining arpeggios and pentatonics!
Arpeggios I would like you to use:
F#mi7

D maj7

A7

Bmi7

Pentatonics:
E minor - A major - D major
( I would like you to figure shapes yourself!
Now the trick!
You are limited and have to do all of it using the second position only!

You can use pentatonics but I would like to hear mostly arpeggios!
I did my take to give you ideas!
Here it is!

WOW! Ive never used any arpeggios before!

I have no idea how this will turn out LOL! cant wait to try it biggrin.gif
thanks dude.

Mostly concentrate on arpeggios but you can throw a few pentatonics out there! smile.gif
This will be a fun exercise!

hi alex,
dude, this was really tough! smile.gif I couldnt really get those arpeggios to sound good at all, they mostly sounded out of key so I think I was playing them in the wrong places.
I ended up using the 2nd position e minor pentatonic and the higher part of the a7 and Bm7 arpeggios. couldn't get the lower parts of those arpeggios in at all!

anyway - this is what I came up with. my part comes in around 0:29.

cheers dude.

It was a good take but not what I was looking for! How about we will simplify the task!
Use only those two arpeggios
F#mi7

D maj7

and nothing else! Please record your take and post it here even if it doesn't sound right to you still post it! It might sound weird at because your ears are not use to extensions! If I will hear your take I will get better idea if you are playing those arpeggios right!
