Today I am happy to announce that we have got two more beginner mentorees in the test phase of MTP - Mentored Training Program.

Our two new students/mentorees have shown great ambition by uploading application videos (this certainly isn't the easiest thing to do for a beginner - heck I bet even some gmc instructors can be nervous when presenting their playing on in public - that is valid for me at least!)

You can check out CompleteNewbie's and Joruus' application videos.

In the beginning we will we be following the same learning plan as our first beginner mentorees.

Homework:
Your first homework will be to play basic open chords to a backing track. Please follow the exact same instructions as given to Praetorian and IntoxyDachsy here.

Until we have a better solution we want you to upload your homework videos on my personal board.

Deadline:
October 9th, by this date we want you to either leave a practice report (let us know how things are progressing) OR upload a video so that we can proceed to the next level.

Little advice...
Joorus you need to add more light sources in front of you when recording - otherwise we will not be able to help you (we could hardly see what you were doing in the application video!) Best is if you can record the video daytime and get some day light into your room.

I am really looking forward to seeing your progress - if you take the mtp seriously you will be able to progress quicker than you thought was possible! smile.gif

Good luck!

And ill get my lights fixed.. rolleyes.gif my main livingroom light is broken so thats most
of the reason its so dark in the vid, and i don't get enough daylight in my playing spot.

Ok we have got a first video by Joruus, check it out.

Very well done Joruus biggrin.gif - most of the time you play in time - and the fact that you say that you had to struggle be able to play with a backing is evidence of how helpful this has been to you!

Also - I think your approach to learning seems very reasonable from your description.

One comment would be that you are a little "off" around 00:39 in this video. To get that right I would advise you to loop that specific region. However I think you have done this homework to our satisfaction as the goal was to just test if you could play this one over a backing!

Joruus' next homework:

Follow this homework.

Deadline:
October 18th, by this date we want you to either leave a practice report (let us know how things are progressing) OR upload a video so that we can proceed to the next level.

Good luck!
Kristofer
