It is really hard to find covers that can really add more/ other meaning to the original songs, so I'm curious what are your favourite covers smile.gif

Here are some of my faves:

Check out that french dude, he is really awesome. And he doesn't play "tab songs", he often improvises and his playing is undoubtedly incredible.

He covered all the song you'd like to listen ahah

That Nevermore cover is truly amazing!
Though, for me, nothing will be as awesome as Hansi singing Led Zeppelin, it's a close match smile.gif

speaking of posting recent stuff and guitar ppl. on youtube or more bout cover versions in general ppl. would think of?

speaking of putting other feeling/meaning to a song I've always got the versions of the song "Hurt" by NiN/Cash in my mind.

apart from that time has shown, you can always make stuff more awesome by putting some nice guitar work in.

like Hendrix version of All along the Watchtower

or this

though I think Morse didn't do a good job on vocals on that performance

I really like that hurt cover.

This is one of my favorite covers, also its not close to the music the band plays at all.

guess that's the smallest set I ever saw Portnoy using biggrin.gif

Nice cover version you posted, I like the guitar stuff.
Still also love the original version, everytime I stumble across it, it's hard to believe that was made back in 69

returning to cover stuff as I already wrote in the chat, I forgot to mention one of my favourite german bands: Panzerballett

They take well known songs from rock, metal, pop and jazz, completely beat them to pieces and use the segments to build something that still makes you remember which song it was but it's still nowhere near the original version.

Pretty Jazz-metal like and quite complex stuff.

examples:
Smoke on the Water, Thunderstruck, Pink Panther theme

Take Five cover in quintuplets biggrin.gif

They also have some own compositions.
really worth to check out

was going to see them live on friday, but the concert got cancelled sad.gif

That was F***ing awesome!

Here are my two favourite covers.

Opeth - Would?(Alice In Chains)

While Opeth has a myriad of covers, this one is my favourite. My second favourite band covering my fifth favourite band? Hell yes.

Agalloch - Kneel to the Cross(Sol Invictus)

Sol Invictus is definitely not a band for everyone. Their flavour of 80's Post - Rock is hard for a lot of people to enjoy. This cover is so very unlike the original, and so very well done.
