Hey guys, I'm not suggesting that I have money (I'm broke) to buy a high end modelling amp, but could you give me a few suggestions so that I can be informed of what's out there and to admire and dream that I own one. Cheers.

Hmm, by modeling you mean modeling only one company tones (like Mesa made new amp that models all kinds of tones from previous models, or Triaxis preamp for example; or Marshall made JVM amps), or you mean digital modeling amp that can emulate all kinds of different sounds?

EDIT the second ones would be Line 6 Vetta head and combo editions and Fender Cyber Twin, both go around 1600$).

I'm basically looking for the functionality of desktop modelling software, such as Guitar Rig 4, put into an amplifier. So yes Ivan, one that can emulate different sounds and models.

It is a preamp but combined with a good poweramp you have the (possibly) best modeling amp

If you need good software modelers, perhaps you should consider UAD DSP card for PC, they have some great guitar plugs as I heard. I'm sure Muris can tell a thing or two about it.

If not, Amplitube Fender, and possibly Guitar Rig 4 are something to consider.

H&K Zen Tera - of the high end modeling amps it is arguably the best available but costs, I think, about 2500Euros.

Before the Zen Tera there was quite a nice transistor one from Yamaha, the 1000 I think, but that wasn't really a modeler.

Below the Zen you're really in to the territory of amps like the Vetta, which really aren't as good. As Muris says the Fractal is really a pre-amp and if you want to start to include those then the territory opens up a bit again.

From Digi's promo blurb:

'...Digidesign Eleven Rack On Stage

Eleven Rack also rocks onstage as a standalone amp tone and effects signal processor...'

which indicates that you don't need to run the Eleven rack hooked up to PT. It does come with a copy of PTLE though.

Why haven't I heard of axe-fx before? Paired with their reactor amp it sounds like it could be a really cool combination.
