In this topic you will learn how to transcribe music and add fun and interesting routine to your practicing!
The first track is chords only. I used pick and alternative picking to play it
To make it easier transcribe chords first and than picking.
How to transcribe chords? It's easy! Find a bass note first and than build a chord on top of it!
When it comes to picking I used the same move on all the chords so as soon as you will get one you will get the rest!
Please let me know if you have any questions and I will be more than happy to help you out!
Here is the first track!

Good luck and have fun!

Hey man this is great for learning transcribing and also for ear training! Think I'll give it a try! Basically we figure out what the chord progression is right?

Hi Alex I've also just sent my attempt as a PM biggrin.gif

By the way Alex. Really nice piece. There's not much of this style on GMC and I think would be good especially for beginners

The first part of transcribing corner!
Chords were:
A - Gmi7 - D - D/C# - D/C - D/B - A- A7 - D- E7 - A
Dark Dude and Zoom got it correct!
This week transcription is:
http://soundcloud.com/alex-feather-akimov/transcribe-2
It has cool chords changes that you can figure out!
Good luck! And if you need any help just let me know!

You did very good! It's easy to transcribe when you start with a bass and build up from there! I am glad we figured it out!!!

Hey everybody good job on transcribing!
You guys getting better and better!
I will start using grades 10 is max!
Maharzan did a great job transcribing I am glad we figured out the whole thing!
Don't forget to find bass first and than build chords on top!

Maharzan got 10!

Zoom it took you a little longer, but you still managed to find the right chords! Try to concentrate on bass as well and really listen to it! You are doing great! A few more transcriptions and everything will be easier!

Zoom got 9!

Here is a new track to transcribe!

Concentrate on a bass and than build the rest :

Good job zoom! You got the bass right and almost got all the chords!
Zoom got 9 out of 10! You are getting better and better every time!
It was:
D-D/C-D/B-D/A#

For the next transcription I have decided to create a simple melody in the key of E major!
Here it is!

Here it is Alex. I think this was a bit easier being single notes.
