Hi Jeff,
Sorry it took me so long to see this ... Bass traps are about frequencies, not positioning so much - you would use bass traps if you have problems at low frequencies and want to even the response of your room out. The foam panels do a different job - they prevent reflections, usually of the higher frequencies. By far the best resource I have found to learn about this is Sound on Sound magazine - check out their website, you can subscribe to the magazine and also search their older articles - there is a lot of knowledge to be found there! -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

Thanks for the reply's. Looks like great info. I definitely need to do something about my room because the sound bounces everywhere.
