Listen to a player who has a vibrato you like, play with eyes closed and try to imitate the artists vibrato by ear until you can play it like your artist, do this with all artists you like to hear, create your own style with what you learned from those artists...

Marcus already explained that on his vibrato lessons...Some people like fast vibrato, some like slow and long vibrato, just see as many vibratos as you can, and than try to copy the one you like the most.

Ya know what is weird, vibrato almost came natural to me. I mean at first I had to figure it out but I don't remember ever having problems with it once I got past a little learning hump. A friend of mine still has trouble with it and I don't know how to help him really.

Most important than vibrato it self is where is placement, playing everything with vibrao is borig as not using any. My favourite vibrato players are, Bumblefoot, Guthrie Govan david Gilmour and Ynwie Malmsteen

That's much harder than normal vibrato for sure. I have some trouble also there. Something that has been working is that if already bend thinking that I will make the vibrato I can do it. But if I first find the note bending and the decided to start vibrato I don't have enough strength.

The exact details depends on how much tension you have on your strings. Right now I am using 010 in Eb, but I will go back to 009 in E to make bend+vibrato easier.

I try to use vibrato using all fingers and all notes.
My vibrato is still not 'there', but it gets better all the time.
Vibrato when bending - I can't do it yet.
But I managed to produce something very close ..
((I think it's easier to use the whammy bar for vibrating bent notes..))
We just have to keep practicing! smile.gif

Start by playing something - a bend, a riff, a scale, a song - very slowly; if you make a mistake, start over; do this over and over, until you can play it flawlessly - and I do mean flawlessly - many times in a row. Next, gradually increase the tempo. Eventually you'll be flailing like a madman.

practise and practise, I have no trouble with doing it on 11ths tuned to E, so you shouldn't have either, Just try to get what you like and practise on all strings and all frets. Licks ending with a bend, starting with a bend, including bends everything!. Just try to develop your strength because with strength comes options. You do not want to be limited in your creations.

It's ALL about muscles. You have to practise slowly and build muscles.

Edit:
Be sure to develop a wide vibrato.

I'd recommend you to just practise slowly man. it'll come if you practise it daily.

A agree that vibrato and bending exercises are on of the most boring ones of all exercises smile.gif But you can practice while you watch TV for example. Me always practiced bending and vibrating together.

I've recently started using more and more vibrato, but it's still a point of improvement. It just makes your solo's a bit more emotional.
