Recently I've been playing blues on Pandora while I do work around the house, and twice I've had to stop what I was doing to see who was rocking the sound system. Both times it was Ronnie Earl, whom I've never heard of before. So I checked him out and he's got a pretty interesting history. Whats interesting is the fact that he became a guitarist in adulthood, and not during his teen years, like 99.99% of all guitarists. This is really inspiring because it dispels the age old belief that in order to become a great musician, you have to start from a young age. Check him out, he's got some bad ass licks.

Very interesting post!

I have always said it: the reason most people don't change the course of their careers at an adult age is not because it's not possible - it's because society (read school!) has always taught us that it's not possible. "If you ain't born with it you ain't got it"

Sir Ken Robinson is on my side - and I am sure many more will come, we're proving it every day here!

edit: (at 11:40 starts the basic message he is famous for, "talent" at 15:00))

I believe you Kris, because you're the one that convinced me to keep on playing guitar, and not give up. I was of the persuasion that you have to be born with a talent, until I saw one of your videos, and that convinced me otherwise. It convinced me that there really is no such thing as natural talent, that you have to work at something in order to be good at it. So thank you for posting that video, you're a great guitar player and I really dig your style biggrin.gif
