Got bored today and decided to restore my old Kaman GTX 23. It's in a really bad shape.
It's even got some psychedelic wallpaper glued on the body as a "finish" biggrin.gif But thats a whole other story.

Anyhuu, after i had desoldered the pickups i noticed that the bridge humbucker was actually a DiMarzio DP156 Humbucker from Hell!
Forgot all about even upgrading that old guitar smile.gif Must have been in 1994 or something.

Going to test that one on my Ibanez instead. It's in desperate need of a better neck pickup.

Not sure why it was in the bridge position.. it's pimarily recommended as a neck pup. No wonder that guitar sounded like a treble-monster.

About the "finish"...
A friend of me and Trond borrowed that guitar from him,
and when he returned it he had used it as his very own "art project" laugh.gif
He even put on some cotton or wool or something for strings biggrin.gif

I believe that was the case anyway.. Looked so bad it was cool laugh.gif
It's been hanging on Tronds wall ever since, hehe..

Great find Trond, hopefully the pickup is in good shape, and you'll be able to use it smile.gif

I'll put up some pics of it after work smile.gif

Actually, the neck feels very comfortable so i'm considering buying a new bridge, nut, tuners and some cheap pickups. But thats for another thread smile.gif

Audiopaals reply is 100% correct.
A friend borrowed it and had some fun with it, and he wrote "da trout", which i have no clue what means smile.gif

And here it is! (I've removed the bridge, pickups, knobs and cotton wool string)

Sorry for the bad quality, the cam on my phone is terrible!

I guess it depends what Trout means in your friend's language? I'm thinking fish: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trout ...but that's just what it means in English.

That looks like a fun guitar to play around with, just needs some poly to preserve the artwork!
