Y0 Jamz that doesn't sound too bad! But I was wondering, are you are playing the equivalent of these chords durring the verse? It's kind of hard to hear from the recording , If not try em out and see how they work for you. I think they are correct but if not I am sure someone will correct me.
Also on the riff right before the verse it sounds like you are playing open G then 2nd fret on the G then open again before going to the E chord, try going 1st fret to 2nd fret on the G string followed by the open B and E strings before hitting the E chord. Unless of course that is just the way you want to play it.
Rock on man! Rich...

PS: Sorry the Tab I made doesnt quite line up to show the chords properly on the last 4 chords. Hopefully it is still legible. I have no software for this and just winged it using dashes and numbers.
Thanks Rich
I'm having trouble understanding the tab below. Basicall I'm following this video for the most part - though I've adjusted the phrasing for electric guitar (bending more, etc.).

I recorded using my iPhone, and our second guitarist (off screen) was using a harsher tone than I like for this song, and often his guitar is slightly out of tune - I'm going to be giving him my tuning pedal to use (often) going forward. I'll be purchasing a decent quality audio recorder soon so I can get better sound.
anyhoo, thanks for any tips/advise you have to offer. I'm always looking for ways to improve my game!
Chris
Ok Jams no worries and sorry about the tab, for the chords over the verse try this
1st chord C#m7 = 4th fret on the A string, 6th fret on the D string, 4th fret on the G string, 5th fret on the B string, and 4th fret on the E string. (waiting....)
2nd chord G#/B# = 3rd fret on the A string, 1st fret on the D , G and B strings
(On a sunday afternoon)
3rd chord C#7/B = 2nd fret on the A string 3rd fret on the D string 1st fret on the G string and 2nd fret on the B string
(For what I read between the)
4th Chord A#m7b5 = 1st fret on the A string, 2nd fret on the D string, 1st fret on the G string and 2nd fret on the B string (lines.......)
5th chord A5 = open A string, 2nd fret on the D and G and the B if so desired which would make it Amaj actually I believe
(Your lies)
6th Chord Emaj = open E string, 2nd fret on the A string, 2nd fret on the D string, 1st fret on the G string, open B and high E strings
7th Chord F#m11/E = open E string, 4th fret on the A string, 4th fret on the D string, 2nd fret on the G string, open B and high E strings
Then just repeat chords 6 and 7
Hope it helps!
Rich...
Check it out Chris
I even made you a short vid to illustrate the chords over the verse including that little riff that comes before it It is a little bit sloppy I know, I haven't been able to practice much lately. Anyways I hope this helps.
Rock on! Rich...
