Hi all !

I finally had my fist gig last night ! biggrin.gif and it went surprisingly well. There are some really nice fellas here who play together for some time and wanted to put up the show. They contacted me 4 days ago and asked if I want to help them with the second guitar. I said yes of course. Fortunately I knew some of the songs that they were playing and we had a hour of rehearsal before the show. It was mostly blues so it was easy to follow but still, it went surprisingly well and I got to play the intro for Voodoo Child biggrin.gif

Maybe continue as a band together if everything goes well.
I'll post some pics when I get them.

Oh and my new AMT SS-20 preamp was amazing. I don't know how much of the applause were for my improvisations of for the sound of this thing but it cut through the mix like the knife through butter tongue.gif

Great experience !

Hey man,

Congratz with your first gig. I remember my first, being very nervous !! It's a difference, right ? : playing at home or in front of an audience. Obviously you had a great time and that's very nice. I've seen all your REC takes and you are a very good guitar player with a lot of talent, so I have no doubt that the public liked what you did !!!! The frequency of your REC takes shows everybody at GMC that you're very very hungry. That's great man !!! Keep that up !!!

All the best

Thanks a lot guys ! smile.gif

So it was an underground bar here in Sibiu, there is a concert there every week or so. The strange thing was that I wasn't that nervous (as I thought I will be) but I was feeling very weak. I don't know why, maybe I wasn't rested enough, or because of the rehearsal before.. I had to drink a liter of mineral water with lots of sugar to get me on the feet. But after that it was all good.

We started with the Chameleon song from Herbie Hancock just to get in the groove and the and then Voodoo Child ( where I got to play the intro biggrin.gif ) and everybody got on their feet and start cheering and it was I got on steroids smile.gif)

I am still waiting for the pictures though. I'll post them these days smile.gif

Wow congratulations on your first gig! smile.gif Place looks great too - I played in a similar looking bar. It's always great when you get a feedback from the audience - it boosts your playing considerably smile.gif

wow - what was the sound like? The ceilings are like you're playing in a tube - that's gotta cause some interesting sound wave collisions!

and you can smoke in public venues there huh? It's outlawed here in California. If you wanna smoke, you gotta step outside like 25 feet away from the entrance of the venue. Haven't seen any smoke in a restaurant or bar in 20 YEARS.
