Intros and Riffs are commonly similar in songs as Walter stated. The subtle differences are what changes everything. What subtle changes do you make between sections of your songs? |

It is a very valuable tool that is overlooked. I sometimes repeat a riff that may have featured earlier but it may be played clean instead of palm muted.

Good question. I use Bends tricks and play muted then open. Then switch to pinch harmonics for accents. Not exactly subtle though.

I generally a fan of "more drastic change" when composing intros.
Meaning that it starts slow and soft and then it explodes into verse I like to make subtle changes to how things are played. On bass, I would play more notes with more fills in the second chorus to make it more exciting then the first one. If there are two verses, groove would be more closed and open up in the second one, Drums would play closed hi hat and then open and similar tricks to play the same thing but make it sound different. -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net
