What is this fascination with things that go boom and bright lights? It's dangerous, expensive and polluting.
I haven't bought fireworks the last 12 years or so, but I do enjoy it.
I guess most danes love fireworks, and this is what I saw tonight:


Looking south to the suburbs, and you can see all the horizon lit up with new rockets alle the time


Looking towards Copenhagen.



Are people using that many rockets in your country?

There were a few fireworks near me. When it started they were muffled 'booms' in the background and I thought 'Ah, this isn't so bad' and then there was this gigantic explosion that sounded like a mortar attack or something !!

Around my place there was a lot firework and i and my daughter shoot a few too .

My dog had to stay in house with my wife because he would attack people when they let explode their stuff .

Fireworks aren't legal here, unless it's an organised event or something.

A lot of fireworks at my place, Germans love fireworks

My hamster Barney was pretty unimpressed by all the noise and was busy eating a hazelnut the whole time

In the city centre you can't fire fireworks anymore and you're allowed only fire them at 18:00 - 02:00.



Same here. The place we live is on top of small hill (no big buildings near) so every kaboom reflects from our house.
And some a** fired few rockets at 04:00 in the morning. I woke up and almost went to the balcony shouting

Agreed! If people want noise and light they can just go to a concert.

To me fireworks belong to stone age! We are struggling so hard to avoid pollution yet we gladly shoot out tons of chemicals into our fresh water sources (and other places) every year. Someone please explain?

A couple of years ago i did a huge trip with my bike...I left in Brussel and arrived in Nerja (south spain) and all this within 24 hours.
So after arrival i checked in the hotel and was ofcours deadtired and went straight to bed...after 5 minutes of sleeping i heared a huge blast like a big explosion....turns out it was the first BOM of a giant firework...40 meters from my room..bummer!!!!

My heart did almost 200 BPM.....

to answer your question , they don't care, it is politically correct to say that until it comes to their pleasure, their plans and it is okay for them because they know better than everyone else.Just like all the politicians , they push for laws while they travel in their fuel eating jets( Yes I believe our leaders need jets to get around, but they dont have to be so big,their houses don't need to be that big, bill gates doesn't need all those houses when he tells me that I need to conserve electricity while I can barely afford to heat my home-while they want to raise my rates because I am not being conservative enough

I have hated...I'm sorry, extremely disliked, the original song since the first time I heard it but this.....this is a song worth being composed. <3 Huge props to whoever achieved this.
