Hey Andy! I would like to suggest some work on the bending and vibrato in lead, working a bit with this lesson which is easy and doable but focuses on the task at hand wink.gif

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/neocla..._for_beginners/

what say you? If you don't like it we can try another one smile.gif

Cosmin

Hey Cosmin

I've posted my take in the REC section, although looking at it I don't think I've really got much vibrato. I was more concerned with getting the notes right smile.gif

Alrightie! My friend, you have to slow things down, to start with smile.gif

What do you say if you would send me separate takes with each part, at 50 % of the speed smile.gif focus on timing, tightness and articulation, k?

It seems a bit tedious but I guarantee results wink.gif

Hey mate!

You are on the right track smile.gif but you need to get rid of the bending and vibrato done with the fingers. Try using your wrist for a change and the results will be far better. Also, at about 0.52 there's a not sounding a bit loose.

All in all your left hand should be more confident when playing - the timing was good but the notes sounded a bit week somehow.

Let's try the same take having in mind the things above. Practice them before recording and of course, let me know if you have problems with working from the wrist smile.gif

Hey mate, sure!

The whole deal is to lock your fingers on the note you are vibrating and produce a vertical motion or elipsoidal one!

Here are some very good tips and ideas from our dear Mr. Higgins - take a look and let me know what your thoughts on this would be wink.gif

I'm really struggling here Cosmin sad.gif I can't seem to do what Ben is doing, and in the original video by Emir (the one that I'm trying to do) he is clearly moving the strings up and down to get the vibrato, whereas Ben seems to be moving his wrist from side to side but the string is staying still.

It's driving me a bit crazy now blink.gif

Mate, there are different kinds of vibrato, Ben's is elipsoidal as I have described in my last post while Emir's is vertical as you have noticed.

If you want Emir's you have to go with fixing your thumb on the upper side of the neck (the anchor you need to pivot your wrist) then fret the not which you want to vibrate with your ring finger, while the middle and index are supporting by fretting right behind the middle finger on the same string.

The index can be held in such a way that it only touches the strings - it will mute unwanted noise.

Now with this position move your wrist up and down describing a vertical motion smile.gif

This is how I see it - does it work for you ?

Hey Cosmin

Thanks for doing this. Unfortunately I hurt my back a week ago and haven't been able to practise. I should be ok soon and will carry on with trying to nail it.
