Well, I dont want to put a lid on the enthusiasm here, but the only things that can make me stop would be either a baby-blue 62' Strat in mint condition or Ms.Pfeiffer.... (in whatever condition) tongue.gif

If you are a smoker, you really don't enjoy it, you just *think* that you enjoy it. The difficulty in quitting is tied to dopamine, the neural transmitter. When you crave a cigarette, that is just the manifestation of dopamine being released over neural synapses. The anticipation phase, that is what you have to break. This is done when you quit responding to the urge, over time the triggered response (release of dopamine) ceases, and the craving disappears.

Years ago there was this guy on TV in the US, who had an exercise show. He had this German Shepard dog. He would take some donuts, mix it up in a bowl with coffee, pour in some sugar, and then grind cigarettes into it, and offer it to his dog. Then he would say "this is what the average American has for breakfast, and EVEN MY DOG won't eat it!".

Myself, I get my motivation for having good health habits by going to Walmart, and looking at you average Walmart shopper. Or even going to the grocery store really. All the crap they sell, most of it just processed crap, and this is what people live on. Then I just say "no, not me, I am not going to become one of them". Really, the typical lifestyle, processed food, little exercise, TV, and worst of all cigarettes, just does not make you happy in the long run, they take away more from you than they give you, by a long shot.

Don't smoke. Seriously, there is nothing sane about it. Crazy people enjoy certain things to, just because you enjoy something does not make is sane. Give it the dog test, that is really a good test for sanity. If your dog will light up, I will say I am wrong here. I bet my dog would let me stick a cigarette in his butt before he would let me stick one in his mouth.

Congrats on quitting, Mirko!
Maybe you should start one of these "which guitar" threads to get an idea about a new one.
btw, how is the work with the v-amp and the new software going?

Congratulations Mirko. Its tempting and probably the hardest thing to quit. The bright side is everybody is going to love you. I hate the smell of smoke although I did smoke for about 2 years way long ago just because I was the only one not smoking in my friends circle. But later I just quit it after I was away from this circle.

On the other hand, see every 3 months you are going to get a new guitar.. biggrin.gif well, you can always bargain with your wife to save it up and buy a 1200$ guitar in a year next time. smile.gif

Strat looks awesome in that price as many has recommended. smile.gif

Well said Fkalich smile.gif

As an intermitemt smoker, I thoroughly agree. Then again I guess I'm lucky, if I smoke too many one day then the next couple days I don't even want to see a cigarrette laugh.gif

I smoked for ten years, not much but daily, then I quit for three years, then three years back I stated to smoke again now and then, specially when going out at night or having a beer with a friend etc. It's just a habit, but a very addictive one.
