Today is the 96th birthday of Mr. Les Paul. And for this occasion, Google transformed itself to a guitar biggrin.gif
So, today everyone can practice on Google biggrin.gif

Hi everyone!

Since the GMC community is big, there's a lot of chance that there are some Italian people here. And I have a question for them.
I'm going to Italy with my girlfriend at the end of June. (From 26th of June until the 4th of July). We will land in Trieste, rent a car there and then drive through the north of Italy until we reach Turin, where we will fly back to Belgium.

But now, we (well, my girlfriend... I'm playing the guitar tongue.gif) are looking for some places to stay. Some campings or cheap hotels.
Does anyone has tips on where we might stay?

Your help would be very much appreciated! biggrin.gif

Rock on

Hi,

why is the time on the forum displayed uncorrectly?

This is the time now, according to the forum: Time is now: 28th May 2011 - 04:09 PM
But actually, here, according to my laptop, it's 16h56.

I just adjusted my settings to the right time zone, but that doesn't appear to be helping.

Does anyone has a solution?

Thanks!

Hi,

As the title might suggest, this topic is about trying out new gear. But, as soon as I hold the new guitar, or as soon as I am plugged in to the amp, ..., I forget everything I've ever learned playing on guitar. And I stand there, staring like it's the first time ever I hold a guitar. But that's not good. Especially if you want to know if the gear sounds alright.

Do anyone of you guys have had this problem?
What do you play when you go out to a music shop to try some new gear?

Today I went to a 13-year old kid's house. I had to do some intelligence tests on him for one of my courses at university. And as we did the tests, we started talking about music (I was reading a catalog from a music shop while he was filling in some papers) and he said he really wanted to learn how to play the drums. Every time he has a table in front of him (for example in school) he taps some rhythms with his fingers. Then his mam entered the room and heard us talking. I said: why don't you learn it? But the mam replied: Why would he learn how to drum?
A little later, when his mam was upstairs, I asked him why he wasn't allowed to drum. Apparently, his mam thinks he hasn't got enough time to practice and it's too expensive.

I feel sorry for the kid, that he can't do what he would like to do. What do you think? And did your mam (some people might change this into "your wife" tongue.gif) ever held you back from doing something you'd like to, like playing the guitar?
