In your Breaking Down Drop A lesson, how come those chords you play sound pretty, and when I play it, it sounds harsh?
 How are you getting that sound?

I'm using a very mildly overdriven tone and I play 16th notes as evenly as possible other than that, no big secret those chords are pretty tough, I know and getting them flow will take a little work, but it's not that difficult once you give it some time

I'm using a metal tone with low distortion. Sounds too harsh. Okay. I'll keep practicing. 
)|

Hey man I was reading your post over in the "Game of modes" thread about how to ephasize the mixolydian mode. I understand your answer, at least as far as using G7 and G7sus4 when G is the 5th degree of C Major Scale. My question is what is a Vamp? I haven't come across this term yet, and was wondering what it referred to?

It is distinguished from a "loop" because variations are slowly built in by improvisation.
