May we make the backing tracks downloadable?

You can always ask the instructor who made the backing track via PM or his instructor board to send it to you! smile.gif Download option is currently not available.

What if the instructor is no longer active in the GMC community or takes to long in answering?

In that case try sending a private message to Skinnington and he'll get it for you ( https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...p?showuser=3374 ).

After two years I still wonder why there have not been an official reason for this.
If anything, there should be a pinned topic explaining the process. smile.gif

That has been up for discussion before, and is considered "illegal" (so you should edit it away before a mod does it for you). There is a reason GMC does not allow you to download them, but who knows that (and noone knows the reason, as far as I know) unless youve been here for a while smile.gif

I'm not sure, but it seems logical to keep the material on the GMC server. It doesn't say anywhere that download tracks are downloadable when you are subscribing btw.

It doesn't say, but it is interesting that GMC is very open about distributing them, but does not allow people to download them. Even REC is built on the idea that you get your backing track, and record your take over them.
The only difference I see between the way it is now and if there was a download button, is that now that whole process is done manually, is less secure (because people who are not subscribing, but have forum access, can get the backing tracks, but if there was a download button only subscribers would have access) and allows less members the opportunity of downloading the backing track. I suspect the last is the reason why, because if fewer people download it the less chance there is for it to be distributed to other places.
I would love to hear the official reason though, because especially lately there have been a lot of questions about it..

I doesn't say that you could download guitar pro tabs neither, but you can... and it really helps.

In my personal opinion, this site/community, should (and, actually, it mostly is) be oriented to facilitate, the most possible, the learning process and, therefore, it should give as many tools as possible to students in order to help them in their learning process.

Downloadable backing tracks would help to all those rare students that neither do own a POD-like gadget, a physical amp at home nor a M-pro soundcard able to share sound drivers but do have a sad free LE version of, for example, Amplitube, GuitarRig or any other amp simulator.

But, as said, it's my personal opinion.

Cheers and happy new year!
