Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: The Tasty Etude by Jonathan Burgos

Well, it's not exactly my style of playing but Gabriel asked me to give it a try. smile.gif

Hey Dude, I think you did quite well considering it's not your style of music at all.

I think it's good to stretch out of our comfort zones to push ourselves. Although you're probably not going to play music like that you can definitely use some of the same phrasing methods like those slides.

Your timing was good.. the sliding and vibrato need some work but generally a cool take smile.gif

Hi mate! It's great to see you playing something that isn't your main style. This things really add a lot to our playing. I remember how much Kirk Hammet playing and phrasing (and even his solo tone) improved after taking some lessons with Joe Satriani.
Your playing is good on this one, I can note that you are not very used to play this type of phrasing but maybe playing it once every day you will even incorporate a bit more the feeling of this one. Your vibrato is good and the timing is mostly perfect. Good job! smile.gif

Sounds very good! I am glad you've decided to step out of your comfort zone and try something new!
As a musician you should be as versatile as you can be that's how you will develop your own unique style!
I like your vibrato and timing was almost there! The whole take sounds a little too stiff to me, but if you will keep playing it it will get better and better!

Very nice ! A few tiny errors, but a general impression is very good. You have a great sense for the rhythm, and as boys said , just a little more polish and this will be perfect. Great job ,keep practicing smile.gif
