Hi friends,
I need your help.

I use a lot my pc when playing guitar. I started recording my video for GMC REC program, I connect my POD, I see the GMC lesson video using My Speed, that slow down the speed of the video and so on.
In terms of computer, for me is like cars: have been driving without problems for 25 years but if I open the bonnet it does not make any sense to me.
Now, I am using a "business tailored" pc (you know, to run Office, Remote Desktop and other business utilities). What should I look for making it more "guitar friendly"? A sound card? Checking how much RAM? It doesn't need to be professional configured (I play just for my self as hobby in the spare time)

Any help will be really appreciated

Thanks in advance
Carmine

Hi Carmin !
I am not a specialist in computer and all that around - but a business build pc normally don't take much worth on
hardware like sound card video card and of course got less ram needed.

To put in a good sound card video card ram and all that cost a lot of money !

It would be important to know what kind of processor ect. your pc is.

Maybe its worth to get a pc or laptop what is more into multimedia -

Dieter

Hey,

I would at least get a better soundcard or an external audio processor (providing that yours doesn't do the job now). And with better I don't mean an expensive homecinema type soundcard with dolby 7.1. output but one designed to record instruments. These are usually built to insure low latency whilst recording (the delay between the input being processed and the output). Nothing is more frustrating than recording with a delay which makes multi track recording almost impossible due to timing issues.

I myself use an external audio processor called fast track from M-audio because I have a laptop. Payed like 99 euro for it at the time but it's been worth my while. I often combine this with the built in webcam from my laptop to record some metal madness hehe. Another good thing about these audio processors is that they take some of the load of the PC's processor.

Good luck with your search.
