My 4th favourite Metallica album after Ride The Lightning, Kill Em All and Master of Puppets. The fact barely a bass note can be heard on the whole thing is annoying and I can't stand Shortest Straw. Apart from that it is a great album.

I still contest that Dyers Eve is the greatest thrash song Metallica has written, AND there's a cello following James on the fast parts, which really fleshes out the rhythm line. If you've not heard it, go back and listen, it's there.

If you've not heard it, go back and listen, it's there. Yeah, Dyers Eve is probably Metallica's greatest thrash song (or Damage Inc.) but it's really the only "thrash" song on there. The only other thrashy riffs are in One and a little in The Frayed Ends of Sanity. Thanks for all the comments guys Oh and sorry the picture isn't working, can someone tell me how they are able to post pictures? Awesome review man, i enjoyed it. I agree with this being the most technical album of Metallica, if only the bass would be audible, it would have been even better.
My favorite tracks are: 1. One 2. To Live Is To Die 3. Frayed Ends of Sanity 4. ...And Justice For All 5. Blackened -------------------- Playing Guitar Since: December 2006 |

Good review Slash
Yep this is gotta be one of my favorite albums of all time. The sad thing about this album which you said is the bass is basically not there. It's a shame that they really left that out because the guitar riffs are one of my favorite of all time.Gotta say i love every single song on here but Shortest Straw and Eye of the Beholder are 2 songs i really enjoy playing still to this day -------------------- My Gear
Cort X-2 electric with 24 frets and 2 humbucker's dark Blue Kustom DFX100 With Celestion Speakers, and thats it now (lol) My Advice Figure out what you want in life early.Wether it's the girl, the partying or mastering the guitar.Adding any 2 together will get in your way. |
