1994 Mesa Boogie Mark 1 Re-issue, HELP!

As far as what this amp sounds like, just listen to any Carlos Santana, that's nearly 100% Mesa Mark I tone for you. It'll blow you away for blues or blues rock, and sounds great for rock or fusion as well. I believe they are a decent jazz amp too, although Mesa is more well-known for it's gain channel.
