Your recent work with Doubles is what made me think of suggesting it More for future collabs and such. You have come a long way really quickly on your Multipicking!!!!!

I almost put a solo in for me, but I really wanted to focus on you guys for this one I already had everyone learn my original solo in chat so I figured I'd just play rythm on this one You guys didn't need me at all though, everybody RAWKED!!!

You really have made great strides in your playing and it's great to see The benefits of earning the crap out of it in the Weekend Shred Fests are really showing up in your Lead playing!!

This is a really great video Todd! I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a "Todd Unleashed" or "Todd Gone Wild" take in it.

I love how it turned out. All the GMC'ers who took part did an amazing job. Some real cool styles & ideas going on in there. It feels great to be a part of it.



You are so right! I have come a long way from when I started GMC. Back then I could just play a major scale & chords. Sometimes I'm not able to get much practice in during the week so this proves spending weekends at Midnight Metal Madness chats can really improve one's playing skills.

I tried to use bits from the chats & then played around in the scale to the backing track until the bt would finally "speak" to me where I could finally nail down a solo I was happy enough with. I even noticed it while I was playing my take that it does need syncopated variation rather than just the straight eighth notes.

Bingo! Creating "Balance" in a solo can be done by using slow bits leading to fast bits, or legato bits leading to picky bits etc. You had a really good solo! But it's always possible to get better, better, better!!

Thanks Todd! Great job everyone And do you mean some fast stuff at the end? Like a tapping phrase? I only had a little ascending legato phrase at the end

Happy to help and spiff solo btw! Your right hand technique is quite natural, but it may be gumming you up a smidge. Adjusting to a new position will seem awkward at first. Especially if you are accustomed to playing side saddle. You might tryi playing standing up and pushing the guitar towards the center and finding the center "sweet spot" sort like John Petrucci. Once you make the adjustment, muting will get way easier!
