Hey guys,
I wanted to share this with you in a topic of its own. I came up with this the other night and finally recorded it today. It's still very rough and not very tight, but it's a start and it's my first real full song recorded. Let me know what you think! https://soundcloud.com/benjamin-storm-linnebjerg/unmixed-rough-and-untight-canto-i And most importantly: I also need someone to do vocals, so if anyone can do that, please don't be shy! |

Very cool tune dude!!!! I like the composition and the riffs. Also the production value is quite good and the mix! What kind of vocals are you hearing?

Congrats on completing your first song!
I think this song has a very cool, a bit sinister vibe to it and you have all the sections down. On a first listen I have reacted on a few details: - Leads (especially intro ones) don't sound as strong as rhythm guitars. I think the issue is with lots of long notes that are sustained but without any vibrato, bending or whammy bar vibrato. They just seem to hang until guitar naturally loses sustain. Maybe try spicing them up a bit, that would make a huge impact on the song as a whole. - Leads have repetitive phrasing when it comes to rhythm. This might have been intentional though and could work for this type of song. When I'm referring to "rhythm phrasing", I think about certain rhythm patterns (combination of different note values) being repeated throughout phrasing. Of course, for this style of music this could indeed work I guess. - Song is a bit flat sounding between its sections. Maybe try dynamically play some parts like chorus stronger and with more attitude, for example picking harder in the chorus so you get a bit more dense and/or loud rhythms. Also it is a good approach to record additional layers, rhythms, fills and maybe other instruments over sections you would like to "lift up". All in all - this is awesome and I'd love to hear some vocals over it Who is up for the challenge? -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

Man that's very impressive!! It's hardly 'not tight' and rough, it sounds like a quality recording and song. I really like it. |
