Posted by: Todd Simpson Mar 13 2012, 02:21 AM

This list is fairly exhaustive and does contain some of my favs. But all time? Anything you can think of they left out?

Mosrite Fuzz rite.
They were pretty big in the '60s. They still have a following.
I have one and it works pretty good. I like it better then my Vox Tone Bender.

I might be an idiot, but there were only three pedals in that list I really, really would like to have laugh.gif
But it's a great list for reference though.

I've tried about 20 in that list, and not all of them were great..
Some of them were fantastic though smile.gif

I got a Zvex Fuzz Factory and a TRex Alberta which are both on the list. So I agree with the list smile.gif

but there is great budget stuff that no one really talks about.

I had a modded Ts 808 for a while which I had to sell for some financial reasons. It was just my thing. So I wanted one again. Some years ago I saw a guy play one of these: and got one right away http://www.musicstore.de/de_DE/EUR/Fame-Sweet-Tone-Overdrive-OD-10-Driver/art-GIT0015022-000

THis budget thing sounded nearly as good as my old Ts808

super cheap (39 Euros) but great. Comes with 3 ICs ( one is similar to the IC used in the Ts808) that you can easily exchange !!!! You get 3 pedals like that.

In this vid I used it with an IC (forgot to mention that in the vid) that gives you less and smooth OD. I use it here more like a booster in front of a clean amp.

It sounds super sweet.

Or here I engage it at about 2 mins with a different IC installed.

They certainly hit every pedal I could think of smile.gif But surely they left a few out?

They vary in price, due to the fact that they are now discontinued, I picked one of my PD 01's up for £25 plus shipping and paid over £60 for the other one! The other three (HL 01, TM 01 and UF 01) all cost between £25 and £70. I have seen them on eBay with BIN prices from £100!!

Soundwise the PD is very similar to an Ibanez TS 09, except that the Zoom is a bit more transparent, the UF 01 (Ultra Fuzz) is a kind of Fuzz Face /Big Muff clone, the HL (Hyper Lead) is very similar to my old Boss OD 2r (Turbo Overdrive) when used in conjunction with a CS 3 and the TM (Tri Metal) is akin to a Metal Muff but not quite as harsh!
Hope that makes some kind of sense!!

Perhaps I should do some sound samples!

Yeah,

these are 42 nice pedals! But what about the legendary BK Butler Tube Driver? ohmy.gif

http://www.butleraudio.com/tubedriver.php

I have recently bought one of those and I must say : Its AWSOME! Although its not a set and forget pedal. You need to discover it, especially if you have the bias version. But it has such a nice sweet spot... biggrin.gif

Famous Players are :

Eric Johnson, Andy Timmons, David Gilmour.

cheers,

S.

Just dug this out of the back of my closet.. I remember buying this is the early 80's so this is not a reissue but the original Rat. Seems these older Rat's have a big following which is pretty cool.

Cheers!

haha...The other thing I have in there is an original late 60's Fender Super Reverb amp that I bought in like 1979 when I was teen. I think I paid like 225 bucks for it which was prolly all the money I had... turned out to be a decent investment biggrin.gif
