Nope didn't think so either. We all know parents don't get this.

I can show you how to be the virtuoso your folks could only dream about, but I first need your help:

* Pm me and I will show you where to start. I am online every day and I will help you out directly!

* Join my mentoring program. I will customize your learning experience in a way you haven't experienced before. We will have regular contact so that you can remain inspired every day and eventually reach a new level.

* Join my next video chat! GMC startpage holds a video chat schedule. We always cover a lot of ground and have fun. Remember that you don't need any previous knowledge, and you can be passive in the chat.

* Jam with me - you will find active collabs here.

* Post a topic on this board, guitar related or not - doesn't matter! You will find that chatting with instructors boosts your motivation to practice.

* You haven't missed my latest video lessons, have you?

* Oh and did you know that to become a killer guitarist you just need to focus on one thing? Everything
else is secondary. Pm me and I will explain.

Hey Karol!

Welcome to your new thread bro! We will start dealing with things in the direction that we have established in the PM conversation and to start off, how about the following plan:

Rhythm: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Rock-Rhythm-Variations/

Hand synch: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Picking-Hand-Basics/

Take your time in learning these and let me know what your thoughts are and if there are any questions whatsoever, ok? And let me know if they feel too easy smile.gif

Absolutely on the money there Cosmin. I too know that my right hand needs practice. I have been concentrating on my left, as I suspect, most people do forgetting how important coordination between the two hands is. Years ago, when I first became interested in playing the guitar, I use do right hand training, but since I've picked it back up, I've gone away from it, so thank you for pointing that out.

The picking hand basics video was easy for me, the rythm one I'll keep practicing cause it caused me some trouble, especially using only the index finger for the A power cord, I've gotten used to using two fingers to fret the A.

I'll keep you updated on my progress.

Take care
Karol \m/

Glad to know I struck the chord! biggrin.gif

Well, keep me updated and if you wish, why not record them so that you will have the proof of progress in your hands biggrin.gif

Hello Cosmin,

I hope you're well. I'm posting my first vid from the assignment you've given me. The second one I find more difficult, although it seemed easier at first, but I'll keep working on it till I get it right. I'm looking forward to your feedback.

Rock on \m/

Hey mate - this looks great so far, aside from some notes that you tend to miss around 0:56 and from 01:02 onwards, you tend to miss the last 16th note, so please focus on slowing things down until you can play that one as well - also, listen to your recording, to see what I mean smile.gif

How's the other one going?

Yeah, now that I watched it, I did hear myself missing the notes. No excuses, just need to practice it more. The other one, I've had a couple of goes at it. Honestly, I've really been putting alot of effort into trying to learn a neoclassical solo for beginners. I really love the melody, but I'll put my focus on the two lessons you've provided me with today and tomorrow. Also, I'll do my best not to rush into recording them until I'm comfortable with playing them. I have a tendency to try and learn everything at once, "and although I know", that it's not possible, my nature takes the better of me sometimes. Truly, I can't wait to be home, where I'll have a nice chunk of the day to myself where I can practice and learn. It's different studying when you're full and rested and when you're after a 12 hour shift in 50 degree sun.

One more thing Cosmin: You have a question, "Oh, and did you know that to become a killer guitarist you just need to focus on one thing? Everything else is secondary". I'd like to know what that is.

Hope you have a great day my friend.

It's always a struggle when we have to defeat our nature - the not so productive parts of it, anyway smile.gif

It's better to be patient and get something done perfect from a to z, then to begin 1 million things and not finish any wink.gif

The answer to your question is simple - embracing your uniqueness as a musician and as any other individual striving to perform as an artist, regardless of the form of art in question. In simpler words - be yourself and don't try to copy anyone else - you will be amazed of what you'll find smile.gif So, let's stick to these two and get them as close to perfection as possible and if you have already recorded it, show me the neoclassic solo too smile.gif

Hey man. It's been a rough one. I've been practicing this solo and for some reason it seems like the more I practice what I have learned, the worst I play it, timing's off, it doesn't sound fluid etc. I know I'm being to hard on myself, but I'll keep at it and continue learning. Off to bed now, I'm uploading my take of the neoclassical solo. I've still got to learn the closing run and need to work on the first one as well, "but not today" blink.gif Too beat.

Hey man smile.gif

Not bad! Don't rush, ok?

The idea is that, it would be great if you would make some tests and record so that I may hear the backing as well - one more thing, the bends and the vibrato - please focus on using the wrist and anchoring the thumb over the neck when bending wink.gif

What do you say if I would make a little video for you in which I will discuss these notions?

Here ya go mate:

Hello Cosmin.
I've managed to record a take yesterday during my practicing. I know it still needs alot of work, but your insite is very helpful.

Hey mate! Things are looking good aside a few things:

- I noticed you placed your thumb in the right position, but now, you need to bend and vibrate using the whole wrist, not the fingers smile.gif Look at my little video again and notice the wrist motion, ok?
- the bend at 0:46 is too sharp
- the faster licks (such as the one at 01:03) are a bit blurry so, they could use some more practice
- at 0:54 you hesitated a bit and it turned into a mistake tongue.gif

As you may notice, these are all details, but they make the big difference so, focus on getting them right, ok? biggrin.gif

Hey there mate! smile.gif

I think that you managed to solve some of those last part 16th notes, but on the way your timing was not that tight in respect to the triplet part and in the beginning you haven't started properly on beat 1 biggrin.gif

I think you were a bit out of focus when you recorded this take, as the last one was great aside from the 16th notes that you missed towards the ending. One more for the show, please and focus wink.gif ok?

What a mental couple of last days. I hadn't even been able to pick up the guitar yesterday. I'm sending my take from two days ago. I still think I can improve on my timing in a few places, but I'll let you be the judge of that.
