I believe the REC program at GMC is the best way to get feedback on our playing (even though I have only done one so far...shame on me). One can describe their questions & problems in the forum, of course, but if we are to really improve, it is important to get direct one-on-one critique's of our playing. It's difficult for an instructor to really help us if they can't actually see & hear our performance.

I was wondering when the best time to submit a REC video? Should we wait until it's as perfect as we can get it? Would it be a good idea to post it in the Practice forum or maybe even the Lesson Instructor's forum prior to submitting it on the REC board? Is it best to only submit to the REC board keeping all the takes in one place? I was thinking that even though I hadn't "nailed" the lesson yet, it might be good to submit a video of where I am at the moment to get advice from the instructors (& members too) for improvement before it's submitted to the REC board.

I submit when I know they are still not perfect. Cause are kick ass instructors always point things out and corrections to issues that I may be aware of but needed the extra help on what to concentrate on and how to practice it. since I first joined I am still on lessons that I have passed and haven't passed. And some things have just kind of clicked and when they do I'm like, ohhhhh that's what cosmin, gabe and Darius were talking about! just got done playing Hendrix saycee play it so much lot of the licks come out in improv . I have 4 takes on that can't remember if I passed or not but I'm still gonna resubmit that one.

You should submit when you think you have achieved the best take you can do at THAT moment in time Don't worry about mistakes - this is what you are here for, to make as many mistakes as possible, so that you can correct them and become better and better and better - I understand that you would like to post something

Hi man! This is a very interesting topic and question. I think that the best is to post takes frequently, to be sure that you are doing the things right. The main purpose of REC is not having 10 takes, it's having a place where we can monitor your progress and give you the right feedback. Sometimes, the right comment at the right time can avoid you wasting a lot of time practising in the wrong way. The difference between posting it in a normal thread and the REC program is that you can also check if your take is getting better by the grade that we give you.

Just gonna sign under what guys wrote Sometimes it's good to post a take even if You feel like being 2 or 3. We could try to help You or notice some wrong things You could do...so Your further practice would be more efficient

Gary, why not post it and let your experience begin I and the guys as well, will be more than happy to assist you and guide you with easy steps and feedback so that you will get the most out of the REC zone experience Deal?

The feedback from instructors are like corns of gold
They see and hear things that you maybe dont pay that much attention to..
Like me for example: I KNOW some parts is soooo wrong but my mind let it pass and I dont think that is so important and when they are pointing exactly THAT and give hints what to practise, I realize that I really must deal with these things

In fact I summit my rec takes when I know they are not perfect but I can get a good feedback from the instructors, the thing that less matters to me is to get good gradesbut to learn and to apply what the instructors have said about my take. if I would only summit perfect takes I wouldn't get any feedback. We learn when we make mistakes and approach the lesson in a different way the next time(same as in all your situations in life). this is only my humble opinion, I know it is ok to receive recognition when you achive something but that's not my case, for me is more important to learn than to get recognition. But as you said the REC program is one of the best tools of this great community to keep improving your playing. My 2 cents.

Thanks man! This is the whole purpose of the REC - making mistakes, not proving that you aren't making any By all means - MAKE MISTAKES in the REC zone guys! In that way, we can point out what needs polishing
