Hello Muris!
I saw this sub-forum had no topics,
so I thought I'd start one!
Unlike most guitar fans who fall in love with this instrument through real guitar masters,
I fell in love with guitar after discovering "Grace" by Jeff Buckley.
Great songs (with a capital S), awesome voice and pure magical guitarness.
Every time I listen to it carefully I discover something new.
I think Jeff Buckley was a great guitarist (songwriter, singer),
that he did some super guitar arrangements,
and that Grace is a piece of work!
Who knows, maybe you'll agree.
Ok, time to go back to my beloved scales. sad.gif
Cheers, Eddie

Oh yeah,Grace is truly Master piece! :0

Maybe not for fans of shred and speed,
but surely for lovers of sweet notes, smooth chords and moody arrangements!!
And Jeff's voice is amazing too, easy to recognize which is a rare gift. rolleyes.gif

Yeah! I guess you can say the same about Joni Mitchell's voice! Wow, ain't she good?
BTW, Jeff was into shred in his early career, when he was
in the advanced classes of the M.I. in Los Angeles.
He was in a band (can't remember the name)
playing as lead guitarist.
But I think he just stopped soloing once
he discovered his voice and the power of songs.
In some ways he reminds me of Chet Baker (one of my mom's favourites).
I guess music became a very intimate issue to him.
Hey, my goal is to come up with some nice melodic
ideas, no matter how fast or slow.
Hope you guys will show me the path smile.gif
Bye, Eddie

Hi Symon!
I guess it only means that something
really beautiful will always find
it's way to the surface. A bit like truth.

Jeff was a wonderful musician - as was his father Tim. Apart from Grace we seem to play Sketches for... in the car quite a bit. I first got in to his dad's stuff via This Mortal Coil's lovely cover of 'Song to the siren'.

Cheers,
Tony
