Hi, I really aprreciate your lessons - I've been long waiting for some flamenco lessons, cos I love this style:)
Yet I have two problems (more of questions really..)

First is, if long nails can make harder some techniques on electric guitar (tapping for example)

And second is if it is possible to play this on electric - I plan to bought acoustic on christmas.. but I want to practice now:)

For example I have a problem in Solea with those hammers pull-offs (at video 1) to sound like yours do - what I want to now is, if it is bad technique or bad guitar:)

First let me say, between the ages of 19 and 26, I was playing Metal and Hard Rock so I know how to tap.
I tried recently to do it again and with my long nails and I had no problem.
Its not really the music for electric guitar, because the picking is more aggressive than classical and with steel strings, you will break nails often, but if you play softer with the right hand and don't have your nails too long you can do it.
If you are having problems with the hammers /pull offs on the 1st part and your playing it on electric guitar,unless you have a terribly high action it shouldn't be so difficult to achieve(what kind of guitar do you have?)
I'm planning a video of Flamenco techniques only, so maybe this will help you.

I have Cort EVL X4, with EMGs and from Mahogany wood, so it looks, like its more of my fingers problem:-D
But when playing with distortion, i have no problem with hammers/pull offs to sound loudly... maybe its just harder to make it without dist. - thus demanding more practice.. Ill go and try to practice it some more..

i started to listen to flamenco music right after i heard
your lesson ( by the way are great ) and i would love
if you do a lesson in the bulerias style!! i realy love it
and if you can focus on the right hand ( all the crazy rasgueados )

I have been searching for a style of guitar that appeals to me and I can impress people with. Lately I have been working on flamenco. My questions are:

What advice would you give a guitarist who is striving to become an acomplished flamenco guitarist?
Will learning flamenco without a one on one instructor be deleterious in any way?

I am looking for a decent nylon string guitar that is cheap!!(I only own a steel)
What particular brands fit that description?

by the way your lessons were really comprehensive and thorough.... before this I was listening to flamenco music and wondering how the hell can they strum like that......I was banging on my steel guitar with a pick as fast as i could soo your lessons on rasgeaugos and golpes really helped!!!!

You have to really dedicate at least 2 hours out of the day.
