Hi Tolek I want to apologize for my absence. I am practicing, but it is spring here and the call of nature is stronger than the song these days. biggrin.gif

I may not be around much during spring and early summer. Once the heat settles in, I will move back inside. smile.gif

Hey Brian! smile.gif Glad to hear about you!

I just made a small example how you could use simple Emin triads in combinaison with diminished ones.

Hi Master Tolek! smile.gif David Wallimann is doing an A Dorian collab. There are a coupleof places where I'm thinking some sort of arpegiated (sp?) chord would fit. Can you school me on this? With Ivan's collab I am interested in learning more about arpeggios.

cheers

Hi Tolek smile.gif Regarding the current lesson, how do you finger the descnding scale? I use 134 on the ascending except for that EFG on the B string. Coming back up starting on the E string, using 124 or 134 neither one feels quite right.

Best would be to use:

Ascending
E string: 1 3 4
A string: 1 3 4
D string: 1 2 4
G string: 1 2 4
B string: 1 2 4
e string: 1 3 4

Descending
e string: 4 2 1
B string: 4 2 1
G string: 4 2 1
D string: 4 2 1
A string: 4 2 1
E string: 4 2 1

I hope it helps. smile.gif You have to do some stretches, but that an excellent exercice for your fingers.
I saw that you´ve already recorded a take for David´s collab. Do you still want me to write some arpeggios for you?

Hi Tolek

I want to clear something up! Arpeggios! Let's take a C Major arp for example. C-E-G

My understanding is that in order to be called and arp, the notes have to be played in scale order
either ascending or descending. C-E-G or G-E-C. In any other order, E-G-C it would be considered
using chord tones.

Do I have this right?

Hi Brian. smile.gif
You´re right that an arpeggio consists of note from a triad (like C - E - G), but the order doesn´t matter. It can be C E G, G C E, C G E,... . You can even have arpeggios with 2 notes, a minor 7 chord e.g (Dm7: D F A C). You can play then C F A C, F A C D, C D F A,... .
Clear?
