Hi GMCers,
Someone told me about a site called archive.org . This site stores almost every site on the net once a months or something like that. So I went to the site and checked for guitarmasterclass.net and check what I found!!
http://web.archive.org/web/20060702030658/http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/
That's the oldest archive of Guitarmasterclass available on that site. How cool??
Well, this definatly shows how Kris kept improving this site!!
G'd luck searching for your sites
Kaz

I've seen that vid a loooong time ago, he did some Jam with Kris. First he played some metallica style solo licks and kris played the metallica riff ( which sometimes is available in the "Lick of the day" part of the site). And after that Jimmy played the riff and kris did a solo
There was also some talk from kris about jimmy's practice progress
I wonder if Jimmy still plays guitar and if he is a member
?

I feel nostalgic
Incredible how GMC has improved itself in the last years !!
Posted by: Jenkinson Jun 24 2008, 07:33 PM
Hah, I remember when the site looked like that, I think it was only Kris and Pavel at that time, then I think Gabe came next. Correct me if its the other way around. That is when Pavel was taking on the Metal genre and Gabriel was taking care of blues/rock. Good days.

Yeah. When I first read about it, I immediately started using it! I could not believe how precise it was.
It is nice to see the old GMC. I wish I had found it before!
P.S. Isn't a site storing the whole web a little bit invasive?
I mean, people should be able to remove content put by mistake or retrive an opinion they changed later...

They can get their site removed, a few sites I tried to look at were removed by the owner. I also found it funny that you edited your post after saying that.

When I watch that old GMC version, I can help but having a great respect for Kris for making the site as it is today. Lot of hard work put in there!
Posted by: Pablo Vazquez Jun 24 2008, 08:57 PM
That's really cool!
Posted by: Henry Dietzel Jun 24 2008, 09:10 PM
Thanks for sharing Kaznie, pretty cool looking back to the early days. Like Ivan said, Kris has done a hell of a job bringing it from what it was to what it is, To Kris & management WELL DONE!!!

GMC has changed so much
Posted by: Fran Jun 25 2008, 07:36 PM
Great find Kaz!
Wow, the site has changed quite a bit haven't it?
I wonder what GMC will look like a couple years from now!
Posted by: Jeff Jun 25 2008, 07:56 PM
Wow, that brings back memories. My picture is still out there on that old site. I remember when Kris asked me about using it and I said "sure, but remember it would scare small children and household pests".
Doesn't seem like so long ago. Kris was the only instructor then and one video from Johan Larsson.
Does anyone else own Kris's Tone, Speed and Theory video?

It's good. I bought it about the same time I joined GMC. I don't know if it's still available though...

People make a lot of requests for him. I wish he came back too. I love that DNAFT solo. I play it all of the time. I don't know where he is.
Posted by: jacmoe Jun 25 2008, 10:43 PM
AFAIK Johan did that lesson on request, like a guest lesson.
Search for 'Johan'. I remember it came up late winter last year (feb 07?).
Kris tried to get in touch with him, but failed.

I own this video, somewhere .. , i have bought it in one of those attempts to start again to play guitar. I got a 6 months subscription later as well, but never really used it. Must have been in the same time like you Jeff as our Member No. is kind of close together.
After i completely forgot about GMC, up to i saw Muris LickLibrary competition entry and did some research on him and it was leading me back to GMC, but at this time the site was already quite similar like it is today ...
yeah .. memories ..
