Here is my contribution Alex. Had some trouble coming up with something for this one, and it kinda ended up with a sort of blues type sound. Really enjoyed working with it though, and I look forward to hearing the final mix.
Almost forgot.....I do not have a sound cloud account (hopefully that will change shortly!) so I just did this Old School style by uploading two MP3 files, one with backing and one without, hope this is alright.
First collab called "Fusion Insanity" is over!
Thank you very much for participating! You guys did a very good job!

My thoughts and comments
First solo played by Zoom
Man you did a really good job! It sounds very good and creative I like octaves idea it really fits the song!
A few thing you can work on:
-Timing try to practice with a metronome all the time, record yourself and listen back!
-Also your vibrato can be worked a little bit more you can use a metronome to practice it as well!
Second solo played by Casinostrat
I like this take very good and solid sound, also some very cool ideas! I like how you build it up and make the whole solo developed!
You can work on your timing a little bit more, especially on the fast licks, try to play them slowly using a metronome, you will get results very quick and it will stay with you forever!
Third solo played by DeGroot
This one was very very good! Super creative! I loved artificial harmonics and arpeggio in the end sounds awesome!
Love your sound and touch!
You can work on your timing a little bit more using a metronome, fast licks sounded a little rushed but it's not a hard thing to master, also you can spend a little more time on your vibrato, use click as well and it will sound just great!
Fourth solo played by Derper
Good job! It sounded really good and you had some awesome ideas! Some parts sounded a little rushed and a bit outside, I am not sure if you did outside playing it on purpose, but it sounded very interesting!
You can work on your timing a little bit more, because when you are switching to fast phrases, some of them sounds in time some not. Just spend more time practicing with a click and it will sound great!
Also you can work on your vibrato a little more, you can use click and try to play it like you really mean it and it will make a huge difference, because everything else is pretty much there!
Fifth solo played by Coffeeman
Good ideas! very solid and melodic solo!
I like how you developed it from the beginning your dynamic was very good!
Fast phrases sounded a little rushed and not super clean
I think if you will spend time playing them with a click it will sound just amazing! It is very close tho!
You guys surprised me a lot and I am very impressed with your playing! All of you are on the right track and if you will keep doing what you are doing you will be as great as you wanna be!
Thank you again for joining my collab!
Great final mix Man! Thanks for the kind words regarding my take. Gonna have to buy a metronome! I thought Zoom and DeGroot sounded awesome! Look forward to seeing what your next collab will be.....Blues....Rock.....Jazz....Metal.......??
Cheers Alex that was great to be part of. Your rhythm playing is so cool it made easy to play! I'm happy with my take but I know there where some timing issues. Thanks for the feedback it's awesome to get feedback from the pro's and I look forward to some more cool backing tracks to come. Casinostrat your take was cool to mate! But I have to admit DeGroot you kicked some butt on this great job man wow!
You guys came up with some cool sounding ideas here with your playing! It was a blast joining in on a fusion collab. Thanks for the comments! Look forward to the next one! Cheers
Hi Alex,
I'm really sorry that I didn't send my take on time. I know that the collab is over but here is a take a recorded yesterday, it is an awesome backing track, and I'm looking forward to join your next collab. Thanks mate.

Ahhhhh!! Sorry to see that I missed this one! I absolutely love the backing track too.
But, I see that someone might get added to the mix tomorrow....perhaps I can whip something up today/right now, post it for fun and MAYBE I'll make the cut. If not, at least I had fun playing to this great track!
Great job to everyone! Really cool takes from all!
Ok, I did it! And no worries if this doesn't make it in the mix. Thought I had missed (actually, intended to join, but didn't keep an eye on the deadline! ) it, but read the last posts and thought I might try anyway....just in case!!
I had fun doing this take, but wish I could have put more time and thought into it. Far from perfect, and a blend of solid "ideas" (not quite fully planned riffs/runs) and some imrpov moments (such as the chromatic riff).
I don't have the upgraded soundcloud, so I hope it's ok to just upload directly here. I've never had any problems with that, so I hope it works. Otherwise I can try and delete something temporarily from my soundcloud, but that would be tomorrow morning.
Either way, no worries! Loved this backing track Alex, and had fun rockin' with it!
Here's guitar only, and with backing.

Whoa! Very cool takes by Derper and Coffeeman! Great Job Guys!
Awesome Collab Alex! Thanks a lot for taking the time to mix it and to give us your feedback. I'm looking forward for more collabs in this kind of fusion style!
Congratulations to everybody, awesome takes!
Wow, what a great job everyone!! It's really cool to hear all of our different styles, techniques, tone, and phrasing/melodic ideas all together.....and inspired from the exact same rhythm track! Even when one of you busts off a riff that I tend to play often, it doesn't take long to hear it go in a different direction than I would ever have taken it.
Really fun, and great stuff from every single one of you. Most of it has been mentioned already, such as Zoom's "jazz" octaves, and Coffeeman's killer dynamics. But I must add...
DeGroot, I really love your "touch" on your take. The "feel", the slight pinch harmonics and more....it just has a great "feel" and delivery that takes time to develop, and is difficult to learn/teach in and of itself. Great take!
Casinostrat, great rippin' solo and killer tone! You really showed this track who's boss!!
Fun times everyone! Alex, I noticed that after Cosmin's last collab he started a separate "Final Collab" thread, which people seemed to like. Just an idea, to share it with GMC, otherwise only the ones who contributed may happen to jump here to page 3 and witness the awesome-ness of your first GMC collab! Great backing track, nice touch on the B3! Sorry I jumped in so late, but really glad I made the cut!
Wow! Cool to hear some additions to the track.. Nice takes and great tones!
Thanks Casino! I'm using the PodFarm software that came with my new Line 6 kb37 interface/midi controller. I still am very unfamiliar with all of the programs, so I usually test about 10 or so tones (only because some don't have the complete line of gear, and want you to pay extra...which just wastes my time!) until finding something that works, and tweaking a bit if necessary. Can't remember what I used on that track. Though I love good tone, I don't get too hung up on "perfect" tone, depending on the project. Something like a collab, I figure I can be "loose" about choosing tone, and each one may inspire my playing in a different direction. Live, I use more clean/funky tube tone, so it's nice to get SHRRRRRREDDY on the digital tone for a change-up!!
Seems alright so far....but I have nothing to compare against, other than live tone.
My biggest complaint, is to get your new gear home and realize that all the software are "half versions", thus attempting to sell me something before I've even learned to use what I JUST BOUGHT!! Also, the list of possible tones is populated with over 60% of sounds that don't work because you need to "upgrade". There's more than enough free stuff in my opinion, but to have to waste time clicking on setups that don't work, is a time-waster and annoying.
Plus, Line 6 provides almost no support. They're so big, they just outright "dont' care" about you. There is a forum, where a Line 6 rep is available to "blame you" and assure the world that Line 6 products work, and it's simply your fault. My unit contained about 5 discs, and no "getting started" instructions. Most people would have no problem with that, but it's tough on the noobs!
For now I'll stick with my free software. Pod Farm ain't half bad. You may even be able to download the same free version from Line 6, without owning a line 6 device. I think so, but not sure.
