I've already introduced myself, and I read more posts than I make. But, I wanted to see what everyone thinks of this guitar. I've seen a lot of good comments on other boards. But, I've also seen a few negative comments. I've been dreaming about this guitar since I saw the hint of it on Jackson's website back in January. I haven't seen it for sale anywhere until recently. So, when I saw this one, even though it's WAY out of my league (and budget dry.gif ) I jumped on it. This was from a store that Chris Broderick and Dave Ellefson did a clinic, so Chris actually autographed this one.

Ok, I'll admit. I also wanted to post something to get the 15 Killer Riffs!

Anyway, now that I got it, I really like it a lot. It's very comfortable, and the 12" radius is very familiar to my since my other guitars all have 12" radius fretboards.

Anyway, here is a fairly bad pic from my phone.

Congrats! I'm not a huge fan of Jackson since they were bought out but I'm really digging that copper binding. I think it sort of makes the whole guitar pop and its got a great looking headstock.

It may never seem worth it to just jump on a guitar or anything thats out of your price range. I did that for two of my gibson guitar and it was like eh maybe I shouldn't have. But now I sit back glad that I did.

Thanks man. I was talking to someone about it before I bought it, and they had the same opinion about Jackson getting bought out. When I emailed Jackson, the reply was from Fender. huh.gif
Other than that, I'm pretty happy with it. It does seem like I got more Jackson than Fender. Not that I don't like Fenders. Just for now I was looking more for this type of guitar.

Yeppers Fender bought them a lot of people are let down by it. Still good quality I just think we all love guitars so much we don't want to see a few brands that own everything sort of like cars. Fender I would love to own a J5 Tele with the single/hum but good luck finding that. Kinda why if I want a guitar I jump on it. Who knows you may never see them again.

oh great looking axe man, that's a very nice flame on the top, or is it another thing? looks like some sort of maple, loving the headstock and the binding too, NICE.

i think it's ok that fender bought jackson, or is the quality worse now?

I am not experienced with Jackson guitars AT ALL, but that axe looks pretty different from what I have in mind regarding the Jackson standard image smile.gif

Yep it's a maple top. As for quality, it's certainly feels like the best quality guitar I've ever owned. But I've never had one like this before. I think it's my midlife crisis purchase. I guess that's better than a sports car! laugh.gif
