ugh. UGH. UGH! that was Horrible in every sense of the word. how these washed up losers think they're still relevant with their crappy generic Alt-Rock is beyond me. more garbage from Craptallica. typical.

I am buddying up with Gman here, I started to lose interest in Metallica years ago.
I was not impressed with this at all and have no interest in hearing anything new from them.
Not looking to start a pissing match, just stating my opinion smile.gif

I agree. You can't judge from a live version. It sounded good to me though!!

+1 I agree too.. I just want to hear it in the studio tongue.gif

And of course Guitarman.. you do have the right to a different opinion, no hard feelings here.. (and I can definitely understand someone not liking metallica anymore).

This sounded very good and promising to me too! Of course this isn't a studio recording and its pretty bad quality but I can "imagine" the song! smile.gif Can't wait for the new album to be released! smile.gif

Ths sound quality is very poor so I can't judge it. I just can say that I'm very anxious to listen to the new album.

Here's hoping you'll be blown away then. biggrin.gif

I just discovered Metallica about a year ago so I didn't much care, or I wasn't alive for all their newly released albums. So I kinda got all their stuff in a short period of time, but I love the load and reload stuff. There are some quality riffs throughout those two albums, regardless of whether people thought they sold out or not.

I can understand your feeling of disapointment. And I used to think that as well (at least, about ST Anger). But then I suddenly realized something. If metallica would have released this album under any other name it would have been awesome. Sergeant Hettfield's Motorbreath Club Band - St Anger with a sticker on it saying: "Actually we are pretty much Metallica, but this stuff is radically diffrent from what we used to do". And nobody would have complained.

Load era Metallica had a lot of great songs, but again mentioned above It shouldn't be combined with KEA through AJFA.

in both cases, somehow people have the tendency to stick the name of Metallica to something, mostly KEA through AJFA. While someone who would listen to all albums for the first time and didn't know the names on the CD's would say that all were actually pretty damn good.

All I want to say basically is that people stick too much expectations to a name or artist. And If anything deviates from that what they want it to be. Somehow it becomes a lesser product huh.gif. That is kind of strange isn't it?

If Metallica decides to record an album only using 5 tuned chickens, 12 fat penguins playing kazoo and a goldfish playing soprano tuba, all in the key of E#. Who is going to stop them? you? Will it remove the artistic creativity? I think not. I am sure that the quality will be very high, and the musicallity will be very high. In fact, In certain circles they would definately decide that that would be the greatest musical experience ever and nothing will ever come close to it. It will definately make an odd listening though, I'll grant you that.

I hope I'm still making sense after this,
J

The funny thing about Metallica is people saying they are sell-outs. After all, they just make music they love, not Ride The thunder ...

I agree. I wasn't around for anything pre black album, though they are my favorite albums, but I love the riffing in load and a few in reload too. Good stuff. St Anger not so much.

If you join up on mission metallica you can listen to the song in its entirety,

however don't expect much I was very dissapointed, although its nearer their old sound it just sounds like a watered down version of Metallica as we know and (used to) love em.

You mean 'older' ? wink.gif

I sometimes look myself in the mirror and see a watered down version of my younger self .. huh.gif

But, I also see a more rounded and happier and altogether more potent person. laugh.gif

The same goes for the Metallica guys. smile.gif
