Something I have done since I learned to play teh guitar a loooooooong time ago was creating my own songs. That is the advice I want to give today, don't wait to be a virtuoso to make your own music, start today, you can create beautiful music with the things you know today, if you wait to be a master there will be always an excuse not to compose your tunes. Today is even easier with the internet and all the availabale recording tools that we have.

So that's it, create your music and share it with the world don't keep it for yourself we all want to hear it, it doesn't matter if your a begginer or a guru, do it today!

I agree. Songwriting gets better the more you do it and study the way other songs are written. I had to write a lot of bad songs before I wrote a good one.

that's really good advice, the classical example, Kurt Cobain, he didn't really know a lot in his instrument, but he was risky and wrote just what he felt,

Amen to that brothers! In my opinion, creating music is what we are all preparing for! The guitar is an instrument which should help us express ourselves! Music is inside us actually and we are the ones bringing the wire and wood to life smile.gif

Couldn't agree more...also, after you have become better at playing, recording, updated your gear and stuff...come back to your old songs and re-do them. You will be surprised how much better they will sound. Even with little ability on the guitar you can create great songs!

Hah, that's an old-age dilemma for me. I made a lot of songs in the past but never recorded them, just left them as Guitar Pro or Fruity Loops files. And I'm always wondering if it's better to record those old songs, or leave them in the past and make new ones biggrin.gif

Ha, leave the old songs for times when you're not creative at all wink.gif
But seriously, I am re-recording my first song "9 to 5" (you can find it on youtube) right now, and it already sounds so much better, just thanks to the new gear smile.gif
