Hello guys from gmc I have a question. When I am practice tremolo picking I lay down my pinky on my guitar. This helps me to keep the picking movement very small. But now I want to know if this is a bad habit for the next exercises or for my playing. edguy I would say it is a good habit - it helps you control your right hand better. Better than that, I think Kris does it too, which means it must be good! I on the other hand don't, and I think I'll try it ... -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

Hey Edguy!
It sure isn't a bad habbit! There are a lot of picking styles. It's up to you to find the one that works best for you! Btw. Luca Turilli from Rhapsody Of Fire picks that way and he is damn fast! He's one of my favorite guitarists and composers! -------------------- "It isn't how many years you have been playing, it's how many hours." -- Prashant Aswani "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!" -- Michael Angelo Batio Check out my video lessons and instructor board! |

Michael Angelo Batio - i know everything about him! I also was an active MAB Forum member a year ago! Have all his CD's! He is an awesome shredder!
He has a good instructional video - Speed Kills. I started my shredding with that video and i was picking just like he is - but later i found that his style of picking doesn't work too good for me. And i spent some time looking for a good style - finally found the Rusty Cooley and that's where thing got better! -------------------- "It isn't how many years you have been playing, it's how many hours." -- Prashant Aswani "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!" -- Michael Angelo Batio Check out my video lessons and instructor board! |
