Rules
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 7.5 or higher.

Hey Mike ! Nice to see the metal flowing - nice 'Deth T shirt
 You've got some nice palm muting abilities going on. One thing that you could develop is a greater control over when it's muted and when it's not muted. Some of the bottom C (open) notes in the beginning riff should be played cleanly with no muting so try alternating between clean and muted versions whenever you practice rhythm work. I noticed you rely mainly on the finger motion for vibrato. I'll send you a pm. with some advice about that. So those are the 2 main areas that I would focus on myself to help improve your riffing. Your timing is good and you've got a nice, chunky, positive playing style. Good stuff

Hey Mike! Congrats on the take mate, good timing and good tone! Now let's work on the details
 Spot on advice from B-meister, regarding the open C notes in the beginning - they have the be played without muting in order to make the riff sound as huge as possible.Imagine Zakk Wylde playing this riff, in order to get a thorough idea about the attitude, feeling and sound - big, loud and tight where necessary! There are micro bends coming out at about 0:30 which should be emphasized more and bending from the wrist should help a lot. The bends at 0:43 need to be more defined as well. In conclusion, your take is very good and with a little more attention to the details it can be perfect! Nice work! What would you like to tackle next - let me know

Good job man!! You did a very good take! I think that you just need to add more intensity to your playing. I mean that you should play more aggressive with your right hand and also make the bends and vibrato more powerful. Your timing is really good and the tone is close to the lesson so just concentrate on your attitude and intensity and you'll be a riffing machine! There is one of the higher strings that is a bit out of tune and makes the D chord sound weird.
