Mates! Please enjoy the POD Farm settings for drop tunings such as drop A (this one is very good for baritone guitars) and drop C.
My very good friend and bandmate from Aria created them and we used them on our pre-production tracks, meaning that they sound just as good as the ones recorded with the actual amps!

Check them out! biggrin.gif

Cosmin,

These are pretty stinkin' awesome!!!!! You guys rock with tone!! Nothing to change, tone-wise. Only thing I tweaked on them was the noise gate. I lowered the decay to 0%. I just don't like the noise that follows the tone. wink.gif I have EMGs 81/85. Now to rock!!! I'm tuned to Drop Ab and it really growls!!! RWARRR!!!

Hey zoom! For Drop A I am using 13-68 from Elixir! They are very good for that sort of stuff!

You use 13-68? I only see 12-68 for Elixirs on Musician's Friend. Can you point me to this higher gauge? Or would a 12 do it?

I got my set straight from the dealer piece by piece - the standard set is indeed 12-68 but i like using a 13 instead. It's the same with the 11-56's they don't sell 'em in such combinations, so I order them separately.

Ah, I see. biggrin.gif I think I'll just stick with the standard set once I get to them. You know, I still have part of an 8-string set. happy.gif So my string gauges are 14 18 28 48 58 68 ohmy.gif
That's going to be an adjustment when I go to 12-68. biggrin.gif

hey killer tones. i used both of them in a simple recorded track so you guys can hear what Cosmin created, who by the way is a metal genius.

here is the drop c tone
http://soundcloud.com/tomrip/drop-c-tone

here is the djent tone
http://soundcloud.com/tomrip/djent-tone

this track consists of addictive drums and pod farm. only thing i did was used a mesa cab. this is only one track, no bass. Point is these are awesome, i could see using these. thanks again man, you rock.

Yep I've tried these tones on Skillet and Red songs. They are awesome tones. Almost the same thing, just a little different to give it the right sound. smile.gif Djent sounds killer with a 68 and Drop A like i have mine tuned to. One thing I learned, Tom, is to pan my guitars left and right so the kick drum doesn't fight with guitar. (Just a little observation from your awesome sound clips) wink.gif
