Do you know how to resist on the provocation in critical situations? Over the years I learned not to fall on the same, and said to myself - calm down, calm down, .. and usually worked. But sometimes provocations have become so brazen that it is very difficult to refrain and not respond adequately. Man explodes and usually regret afterwards. What is your situation with that ?

Hmmmm, I resemble Wolverine a lot in these situations... I REALLY dislike stupid and ignorant people and when they get in my way, or worse, try to provoke me, I feel my blood boiling. Well, I learned that a true man NEVER lets himself dominated by anger so I tend to cool down and have a lucid mind. It ALWAYS - without any exception - makes the difference

The last time I lost my temper with a stranger was during driving incident a few years ago. It wasn't 'road rage' either because it wasn't the incident that angered me.
It was on a narrow lane, with low stone walls on either side. I was coming down the road (following my girlfriend who was driving her own vehicle). The cars opposite were waiting in a passing place which is the thing that everybody does on that road. My girlfriend carried on ahead and the car waited for her to pass as normal but then pulled out and started driving towards me. We slowed down to a crawl and then our wing mirrors hit and smashed off. I didn't know what person was in the car..it could have been a huge, angry guy.. so I thought it best to display a small show of annoyance so the other driver didn't think it was a good idea to get aggressive with me. I got out and looked at my mirror and swore. Then the other (shiny Alfa Romeo) driver, a woman (probably 40's, upper class sort of voice) said in a horrible, self righteous tone 'You were driving too fast weren't you ?!' Well I lost any control and called her all sorts of names.. I wasn't proud of it at all but I absolutely cannot stand people accusing me of something I didn't do. One of the worst things you can do to me. -------------------- |

I can usually let just about anything slide, to a point. Always try to stay calm and walk away if at all possible. Beating the crap out of someone just for something they've said makes you feel like a jerk once your anger wears off.

Really interesting observations and examples, but one thing is for reflection - Clever man know how to avoid the problem and not to lose temper. I agree. However, do you sometime feel that taste in the mouth as if you are defeated in this battle of nerves, and that might look like you are escaped from the problem ?! You see, the feelings are strange, no matter how hard you try to control them in critical situations or after them - you will never be satisfied, damn

Usually I stay clear of people in public that seem stupid!
My anger is usually brought on by something happening, not of a person but just an incident. Greatest example, in the middle of the winter cold as can be and a slight snow, my car tire blows out. I scream at the car and it didn't help so I started to hit it for a good 10 minutes. Get the tire changed after throwing everything in the way across the side of the road. After I get the tire changed I go get it replaced while I sit there I think. Hmmm, I bet this looks good a guy is bleeding from his hands as if he just got into a fist fight and won. But all that I know was they had heat and that alone made me feel better. -------------------- Guitar:

I'm always a calm and serene guy (that's something I heard a lot in my life).
But there is one thing that brings me quick to anger: searching. If there is something I have to find because I need it very badly and can't FIND IT I DON'T NEED THAT MUCH TIME TO FINDSOMETHINGDIFFERENTANDSMASHIT.....even if it's a door and my fist bleeds badly afterwards... Well yes - I know, a fist fight with a car is much cooler - so I hear you SpaseMonkey |

That car should know better! Did you know I haven't had much problems with the car since then? I think it did learn! Oh yeah, I hear you on that one man ! I get supremely angry at inanimate objects that have either 'got in my way and hit me' or 'stopped working' when I'm in a rush ! Yeah when I'm deep in thought and something touches me I will freak out. I'm always a calm and serene guy (that's something I heard a lot in my life). If there is something I have to find because I need it very badly and can't FIND IT I DON'T NEED THAT MUCH TIME TO FINDSOMETHINGDIFFERENTANDSMASHIT.....even if it's a door and my fist bleeds badly afterwards... Well yes - I know, a fist fight with a car is much cooler - so I hear you SpaseMonkey Its a great story to tell also! Another few episodes for me would be when keyboards attackkkkkkkkkkkkkk <-- That that ruffles my feathers I've snapped 2 keyboards because of it. Video games... A button sticks its getting a nice cleaning if that doesn't work ends up thrown around the room. I had to give up playing Call of Duty, my kill count is 3 controllers and 1 game. But you know on a happier/lighter side. I quit playing Call of Duty and went back to a wired keyboard. -------------------- Guitar:
